We were staying at Blue Water Manor recently and arrived there later than expected. Rather than searching for other off-site dining options, we decided to save time and have dinner at Tavern on the Lake, which is conveniently located on the resort's own property. Parking is wherever you can find it, and appears to be shared by both resort guests and tavern customers. The tavern was a very short walk from our room and was full of customers when we walked in. We were greeted by the hostess and then guided to the dining room which is in a separate building located a few steps away from the tavern. Outdoor dining with a direct view of the lake is available also. The atmosphere in the dining room was very pleasant and best described as a bit dark, very rustic, and "woodsy". We were seated with menus by the hostess, and our server followed shortly after that to take our beverage orders. Their menu is not extensive for entree selections, and many prices appeared to be higher than expected. Our server came back shortly after that and took our dinner orders of a glazed salmon with mashed potatoes, and a chicken stir fry. Our food was served up approximately 25 minutes later and was served hot. The chicken stir fry was good but nothing outstanding. The salmon was also good, but a bit dry and nothing that would make me want to order it again. The mashed potatoes appeared to be home-made and tasted good. We shared one small-ish piece of pumpkin pie for dessert that tasted good but, again, absolutely nothing that justified the price ($9.00). You could likely buy a whole pie for that price. Our total bill for two entrees, beverages, and the small piece of pumpkin pie totaled roughly $69 plus tax. We can't honestly say that our meals were a real value for that price. While the tavern restaurant is a very convenient dining option for guests staying at Blue Water Manor, it's difficult to justify the menu prices based on quality of the food and portion sizes. The only truly outstanding thing about our visit here was our server, Bre. She was amazing; friendly, very engaging, efficient, available when needed, and very accommodating throughout our meal, so a huge "thank you" to her for giving us something memorable about our dinner here. If you're considering dining here, you may want to review all of your dining options in the surrounding area to make an informed choice. Thanks...

I had been to this place before ( Quite a long time ago, and would probably have given them 4 1/2 stars..then ) that's why I went there. By myself on 4th of July as a single 60 year old, lady, handicapped veteran. Though the outdoor Lakeside tables & bar had no seats available... There was an 8 top table & a 2 seat table available... I opted to leave those for parties of that size and took the single chair near where the musician was playing live music. A gal name Ashley rudely made comments that that chair is used for incoming bar stock.. Rather than suggesting what might be more appropriate and welcoming... She spoke down about me to the other bar tender there and very reluctantly finally gave me a beer. Then before I could order a second one said you're going to have to move. Again never suggesting an alternate to encourage that movement that could have been a win/win. It was hard enough to have the courage to go someplace all by myself on 4th of July but to be treated like that never offered a menu or any alternative just down talk and pretty much ask may believe without directly saying so. I do reports, on the side as an undercover.... Secret shopper/patron And we'll be reporting this further and do not choose to go back to that establishment due to that kind...

Poorly marked, a bit tough to find. Deadpan/depressed staff stared at my son when he fell out of the high chair and cried instead of asking him if he was OK (no booth or smaller chairs for small families, only large parties) Waitress forgot drink menus and forgot my and my husband's drink order. Received what was supposed to be their local brew and was 100% Bud Light in their glass. Food was bad. My husband's Pasta w/chicken and shrimp came in 2 inches of bland watery soup. (Did not order soup) Chicken and shrimp had no flavor at all- needed basic salt and pepper. Veggies were OK. My nachos were stale, chicken was similarly bland rubber, and it was served with pre-melted cheese that must have been re-heated.

This is a really towny place, and most of the regulars are kind of drunk. One local was laughed off after forgetting her phone at the bar- but she didn’t forget her tie-dyed beer bottle cozy, though. The waitress didn’t say “have a good night” or “bye”, but dropped the check in passing without even looking at us.

The view is great and it looks like a cool place, but unless you’re a local you will be treated like an outsider all for the pleasure of eating...

Review Came here for a late lunch with some friends. We wanted to sit on the patio was were quickly denied with attitude from the hostess. Several tables outside remained vacant for the 90 minutes we were there. We were only given the option of a high top right at the entrance. We ordered a simple Tanqueray and club soda, which were served watered down in beer glasses. Ok I thought maybe we try a house drink and that would be better, but no the margaritas we ordered were all sour mix. Burgers came out dry and dressed with steak sauce, (not mentioned on the menu). Flies harassing us throughout this experience. Finally we ordered an after dinner drink of Woodford reserve on ice, pretty hard to screw up. Yet we were each served a full rocks glass of a watered down Woodford reserve. Who adds water to Woodford?? If that wasn’t enough we were charged for “Long” and $6 or ice??? Nowhere did we order a double or a long drink. Who tf charges for ice?? Between the staff, drinks and food it is clear this place is run by DILLIGAF Woodchucks. Based on previous reviews there are plenty of other options on the water and with a view in the area. Just save your time and avoid this place.

Took a friend for lunch on Father’s Day, 6/16/24 and the Tavern on the Lake did not disappoint!! See pics and videos… Sat at the outside bar overlooking spectacular Lake George!! Bri took excellent care of us for 3 hours! She was very friendly, professional, and prompt. We enjoyed the sangria, the crab cakes, and the bruschetta was the tastiest we ever had from anywhere. Everything was delicious! 🧑‍🍳🤌 I’ve eaten here several times and have never had a bad experience. The views of Lake George from this place are incredible! You can drive the car here (parking gets full sometimes so you can park at other spots on the BWM property & get a ride by golf cart to the tavern) or take the boat out and dock it below on Lake George. The Blue Water Manor property is exquisite! Don’t miss a chance to stop by and view the grounds, the scenery, get a bite to eat and have a few drinks! Life doesn’t get any better than when you’re on the property of the Blue Water Manor!! 👏🙌 See you next month!
