Boonville Hotel Inc — Restaurant in Town of Boonville

I don't usually write reviews but I feel the management at the Boonville Hotel needs to know about this. Last night 2/9/19 we sat down at a table in the bar room (we always do, enjoy the atmosphere) we were not acknowledged for at least 5 minutes, then never brought the special board had to get up and get it myself. I ordered the winter platter $28.95 and husband ordered seafood platter 25.95, when we got our food the side was missing for the seafood platter but no problem when she checks on us we will let her know we have plenty to keep us busy. Well she never checked we had to go to her again. We asked for another beverage and I did not get the same as ordered before. When she walked by when i was sitting back she asked to remove my plate (I had leftovers that I assumed she was going to box) I had to say I would like to take home the leftovers and so she brings my plate back???? All and all we love the food and portion size but that bartender/waitress from last night was more involved with her phone and...

We have only been here twice, the first time we ate outside and had a great dinner and a very nice time. I had the chicken riggies which I thought were probably the best I have ever had. That was around the beginning of September. We went back about 2 weeks ago and sat inside. The door to the bar was open and the waitress was also tending the bar. It was terrible as there were 2 or 3 young men at the bar and they were swearing( every other word was the F-word) and loud and obnoxious. Our waitress was right in there with them. I am by no means a prude, but there were 2 older couples in the dining room as well. If the waitress had closed the door, or told them to quiet down, it would have been nice. I had the hot roast beef sandwich that night. Was not impressed. Tried 3 times that week to contact the owner and each time I called...

Every time we have driven by we say "some day" we need to eat there. Well TODAY is SOME DAY! And am I sure glad we did. French Onion soup some of the best I have ever tasted. My daughter wants the recipe so she can have it at school. My dinner was ground round smothered in beef mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes with more gravy. Simple comfort food but done extremely well. You can tell it's made in house from scratch. Delicious, taking most of it home, and I will be eating it later. Hubs had open-faced prime rib, with fries, and it was amazing. Daughter had grilled ham and swiss on rye and she said it was the best she has ever had.

Comfortable surroundings, great service, reasonable prices. I will be back!
