My mother is a current resident of this facility. Finding the right place and getting her settled was a top priority for my family this summer. After a lot of research and visits to rehabilitation centers, my sister and I were lucky enough to find Sunset. We knew from the moment we walked in, this was the place for her. The Administrator, Bob, was actually the first person we spoke to. The Admissions Consultant, whom we were scheduled to meet with, was wrapping up with something else so Bob offered to show us around. He introduced us to the therapists, nurses, and social worker. We walked through the building and outside on the beautifully maintained grounds where there was a vegetable garden, paved walkways and a gazebo. We watched a round of BINGO, one of the many activities conducted daily, along with Social Hour, Manicure Time, Art and Crafts... My mom has been there 2 months now. The facility has been short-staffed, much like many of the nursing homes as of recently, but they still manage to care for their patients, pick up the phone when I call, and respond to requests for little things that I've asked for. My e-mails are always answered and the staff is very helpful and kind. I have no issue with giving this facility a five...
Read moreWe Recently placed my mother in Sunset NRC. She suffers from dementia and Alzheimer’s. It was a heartbreaking decision and we dreaded saying goodbye to her. (We knew this was the right decision and that ultimately she would transition well to being there, but we just couldn’t imagine leaving her there and walking out) We learned that we had nothing to fear! The staff at Sunset greeted us as soon as we arrived, and essentially whisked my mother away to get her something to drink and took her right into the activity room while we unloaded the car and unpacked her clothing and the few personal items that we brought. They were so kind and warm and welcoming to her that we knew immediately that we had chosen the perfect place for her. She nor we never shed a single tear and we left knowing that she was in very capable hands. When I called to check on her later, the nursing staff told us that she had spent the afternoon resting and visiting with some of the other residents and that she was confused, but not upset and was doing very well.It was wonderful...
Read moreVery unprofessional staffing, dirty, filthy rooms, patients neglected and left in own feces for hrs on end!!! My mother was here for two weeks for therapy, I could NOT believe the neglect of patients that I saw there. The woman next to my mother hadn't been bathed the whole time there, still hungry after meals and nurses would say be right back n never come back. The rules for COVID testing was one way first week and completely different 2nd week. My guess you were turned in for something so you decided to follow rules for week or so to look good to who ever was investigating 🤷. I get being understaff but the unprofessionalism of nurse LINDA disgusted me. When your only nice to patients n there families and other workers in front of doctors and suits, we'll that doesn't make you a good person let alone a nurse. MANY good aids n CNA 's n therapists though and they DEFINITELY don't get enough credit. I thank THEM very much!!! I so glad my mom is...
