The bartender didn't know how to make any drinks. Couldn't figure out a whiskey sour!. wore her winter coat and ratty hat and seemed intoxicated herself and not old enough to drink. Gentleman next to us ordered a burger and asked for no tomato or lettuce... got it despite saying no. then bartender took it and shoved it in her own mouth. So unprofessional. Beer can chicken was dry and cold! Prime rib was tough and awful. Manager seemed friendly but disappeared often. Most the time, noone manning the bar. Many groups left after 1 drink. Overcharged for a rotten chicken sandwich. $17 on the menu. Charged $20. No adjustment despite saying the food was not good! This place needs lots of help..... very few patrons.. Go up the road to Goochs 2
To the owner who replied. The very few reviews I've left in the last 4 years speaks volumes. Several reviews were excellent. We frequently enjoy going out for a cocktail and dinner. Your 18 year old bartender was drinking alcohol. The $20 charge was prior to fees. And I quietly told the server it was not a good sandwich. The entire thing left on the plate. I'm happy to frequent many wonderful establishments in your area.
Again.... my reviews are few.... and I visit hundreds. Your response is underwhelming and blame shifting. You weren't there....
Others complained or walked out. We gave opportunity to correct during our visit, but your staff did nothing.... they were all in need of training!
My partner was extremely sick all night after eating that prime.... Left that out initially to be fair.... but consumer beware..... this was a great place years ago... failed under new owners using the original name, revamped the name and menu, but sadly I think your attitude, service and food will speak for itself. 1 star was generous.
And to travelers...... The Boulder beer bar, Goochs 2, The Grainery, Aqualand Ale, local coffee house and for lodging.. the Big Bear Hideaway...... are all amazing places to enjoy a weekend away. Try Boulder junction to enjoy the Northwoods.... you won't be...
Read moreI usually don’t do 1 star reviews but this place was just honestly bad. First of all they ran out of steak burgers, hamburgers and some pull pork sandwich if I remember correctly. They said it was busy because of the snowmobile radar run. I’m in the restaurant industry, you should never run out of food even on expected busy days. The chef came out and apologized; it seemed like he was crying, which I feel bad about but you’re running a business; that shouldn’t happen.
Next, the bartender made it seem like making a drink was the end of the world, he was huffing and puffing about a simple Jack n’ Coke.
The service was horrible. There was 1 server and the previously mentioned bartender. Took 45 minutes for her to take our order and another 45 minutes to get our food. At the time it wasn’t busy at all, just 2 other tables.
The food was not even close to par. The prices are way too expensive for the amount and quality of said food. My fried chicken sandwich was burnt, but I simply dealt with it. I also had the side of Mac and Cheese, it was the blandest thing I ever had. To be honest it tasted like someone put plain elbow noodles and water with yellow food dye in a cup.
A member of our party never got his food, when the server came to give us our bill, she made it seem like it was our fault for not telling her about the missing dish. She disappeared after she delivered the entrees so there was no way we could tell her.
To top it off there was children running in and out of the kitchen. Not sanitary at all. In my opinion, this place will...
Read moreMy husband and I have been coming up to Boulder Junction for the past 8 years to snowmobile. We were thrilled to hear trails opened just in time for the MLK holiday weekend after a year hiatus due to trail closures. Our first stop this morning after sled issues was to Razz’s. We got there right at opening and were welcomed by a friendly bartender who encouraged us to try their Bloody Mary bar. Wow! The selection was diverse from the maple pepper bacon, super cheesy grilled cheese quarters, mozzarella and beef stick, prime rib ale soup and other accoutrement. While we didn’t need to order a meal because the Bloody Mary bar is a meal in itself, he recommended the Beef Tip appetizer, which too was delish. It’s 6pm and we are back at Razz’s, and again we are greeted by another lovely bartender and looking forward to a...
