Went in for dinner last night after being highly recommended. Upon arrival the parking lot was very busy so we were excited to get some good food. We are from about 2.5 hours away. Upon arrival we waited 20 minutes for a table. After that the waitress was very attentive for drinks. Beers weren’t the coldest and mixed drinks were not made correctly. We ordered an appetizer and it was the only thing that we got that was good and hot. We put in food orders almost immediately from the time of sitting down at the table. After an hour of waiting after our appetizer was gone and our drinks were gone. We had to flag down a host to figure out if we could get our waitress to come and check on our food. Finally food came out. Prime rib was not only super fatty but was cold. Cavatappi and Meatballs came out cold and the sauce was extremely flavorless. Tortellini Pasta was more like soup than anything. I think we found about 5 noodles in it. After asking to speak the a manager we were offered another round of drinks. When we asked if they would be complimentary we were laughed at. After 2.5 hours of being at the restaurant we finally had enough and paid our bill and just left. Super disappointed, I would never recommend this establishment. The only people in there having a good experience were obviously the locals that knew the...
Read moreWent there after an EXCRUCIATING twenty minute wait for drinks at another local establishment... Our service was very prompt and attentive. I ordered the Philly CHEESE steak sandwich and asked for mushrooms on it as well with a salad and fries. Salad was wonderful, nice crisp lettuce and toppings... My sandwich came out half cold with what appeared to be one slice of cheese cut in half draped across an extremely dry heap of chopped beef and very few onions or peppers and seemingly no mushrooms. Our server came back within the two minute check as expected (extremely wonderful server etiquette)... I asked for mushrooms. She came back with a generous side dish of mushrooms and explained the mushrooms were chopped up in the sandwich already. I took the juices from my boyfriends prime rib to add a little flavor along with moisture to the sandwich. Still was very bland. Added salt and pepper which remedied the personal preferential shortcomings... But by that time I was already displeased and unsatisfied. Three bites in only due to the fact I was trying to "fix" it, and asked for a Togo box. My significant others prime rib was AMAZING.... and the French fries were hot and crispy. Not super satisfied with the experience there and with other venues in such close proximity, there's a very high chance we will not...
Read moreMy wife and I visited Re-Pete's last night around 6 pm for their Friday fish fry while we were camping at Castle Mound. They have a good size parking lot that still had plenty of room to park my full size truck and there was a short wait as they were at peak dinner time on a Friday. There were seats available at the bar to have a drink until a table opened and I noticed that while they were working a busy shift, the staff were very friendly and the entire place is absolutely immaculate. Later, when I visited the restroom after eating I found it to be extremely well cleaned as well. We both ordered the 3 piece fish dinner with a side salad as well as their chili. If you get the chance to try Re-Pete's chili you won't regret it. As I was pretty hungry, we did share a nachos appetizer which was pretty good too. I couldn't pass up the strawberry cheesecake to share with my sweetie, probably should have, but I didn't and it was totally worth it. By the way, the fish was delicious. Fall apart tender with a nice light batter, also they have really good tartar sauce and the fish comes with a slice of lemon without having to ask for it. Our waitress was super nice and I noticed the waitstaff worked really well together. We will definately go back when we're in the area and we marked it as a favorites on...
