Bernie's Family Pizzeria — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

I started becoming familiar with Bernie’s amazing food not long after he first set up shop. I wandered in there one day to surprise my elderly mom with a pizza with black olives and fresh tomatoes. Halfway through her first slice, it was clear this was going to be “our” new pizza place. We eventually tried some of the Mexican specialties and she just raved about the food. Mom was my world (rest in peace 4 years ago) and it was my pure pleasure to treat her to her favorite foods. And Bernie’s was IT! I still pop in regularly for whatever I’m in the mood for. The food is top notch in quality and flavor. And you’d be hard pressed to find a friendlier, sweeter, and harder-working staff. And Bernie, himself? What an amazing, lovely human being. He pours love into every recipe and he shows that same love to his customers. I have never appreciated “chain” food places of any kind, and I’m on the particular side when it comes to “Mom and Pop shops.” I have never regretted a single order from Bernie’s, and I know I never will. If you haven’t already given them a chance, do not delay! From the moment you walk through their front door, you will know you are in a special place—and your taste buds, your stomach, and your mom (if you’ve been blessed with one like mine)...

We bought a pizza pie for $15 and brought it home to eat, and were all excited that we’re going to have a great pie to eat. Sadly, when we brought it home we realized there was a scarce amount of cheese on the pie. It was mostly crust. Even the dough was dried out. When we addressed the owner about it via phone call, he ridiculously responded by saying I’ve been making the pizza the same way since I’ve owned this place and it’s not going to change now, even after I told him I’d come back and visually SHOW him how little cheese was on the pizza. He even refused that and said there’s nothing he can do like: add more cheese, make a replacement pie, or even give us credit toward another pie in the near future. He neglected us as customers and ignored a problem that shouldn’t have even existed in the first place. HE’S CHEAP!!!! In my opinion, this pizzeria should be avoided...

Bernie’s is hands down an amazing family pizza place, Bernie and his children take pride in their food and business, always greeted with a smile, great tasting food and the most generous of owners , not only does he have great Italian food but also offers an assortment of Mexican food, namely tacos 🌮, it always comes in handy when not everyone is feeling like having pizza or pasta dishes. You will never be disappointed going to Bernie’s unless your just one of those people who are never satisfied . After so mAny failed pizza places in this spot I’m so over joyed to have such a well run with great tasting food pizza place so close by. Thanks Bernie!!!! You always do an amazing job!!!
