Oakwood Superette Inc — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

They try. Being in Mastic Beach is a downer. Has been called Mistake Beach. But the Deli & staff are friendly & the breakfast sandwiches are very good. Have bought a Cheeseburger Deluxe there. Frozen Paddy's, but a Good size burger. French Fries were passable & a good portion given. They have a great hot & cold display of foods, but their front door is always open! Allowing flies access to the prepared food. I hesitate to buy it. Being a retired sanitation worker l know what flies are all about! YUCK! Parking lot is not up to par. Fix holes & blacktop. Get rid of weeds growing on side of building. Garbage pail by front door should be maintained. I myself have picked up trash people have thrown & missed the pail. Slob's!! Not a good thing to see while entering deli. They should check on the pail hourly. Their dairy should be encased. Not have rubber strips hanging over refrigerator. Bought milk there twice. Went sour 2 days later. Expiration dates were 2 weeks away! Sometimes when I go in there l shake my head watching their clientele buy JUNK with their EBT Cards. Anyway, they're good and very close to me if we're in a pinch. Still...

Stopped in to get an egg sandwhich. A couple was in front of me waiting to order. They ordered then it was my turn. They were busy. Woman apologized said she'd be right with me. I stood there for about 10 minutes. The line grew behind me. By the time they took my order there were 5 people behind me. Go up to the counter and wait. The couple in front of me get their order and leave. Then I watch one by one as each person who was standing behind gets their order. Finally I ask what the hell is going on. I'm told that all those people were on line before me. Told them forget it. Standing there for a half hour for dry eggs. Mind you this wasn't the weekend. It was 1115 on a Tuesday.
