Hero Haven Pizza & more — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

A little on the higher end when it comes to pricing on the drinks; but, it's a price I'm certainly willing to pay when it comes to the quality provided. The rainbow cookies were fantastic with tea, but for someone who isn't as sugar-sweet loving person as I am, their more subtle sweetness would definitely stand on their own. I haven't had a chance to try the brownies yet, but, they taste fantastic according to my traveling partner. The Hungry Man breakfast hero was, honestly, to die for. I will be making a trip back to New York at somepoint just for this sandwich. Seriously. While it definitely wasn't "jam-packed", but it was filled so much that hungry appetites should definitely be sated. Granted, I did not get ketchup on mine, so I cannot speak to the sandwhich having ketchup, but without it, the flavours were beyond on-pointe. Now I have to talk bagels. I am very, very, picky with bagels. I generally haven't come across a gentile bagel I liked before; but, for something not authentically Jewish, this New York bagel spot has the best Gentile bagels I have ever eaten - almost reaching a true Jewish quality with the flavor. From my experience, as I said, I will hopefully make a trip back to New York & the Mastic area just for this quaint store/restaurant/deli/pizza place - hopefully with more people to show it to. Now to just start a petition for a branch to open...

I had a terrible experience ordering from Hero Haven. I didn’t even get the food so I can’t comment on that. I called in a delivery for 2 pizza pies and a salad for my students at summer school on their last day. I ordered at about 10am and the woman on the phone said “see you soon”. Well, an HOUR later at 11am, she called back to say the delivery guy and pizza guy were not in yet, the ovens aren’t even hot, and that the food would take another 30 mins (which clearly was not true it would have taken another hour at least). I was pissed because the kids had been waiting for food and now I was scrambling to try and get them food from somewhere else before we left at 12. If only she had told me that from the jump OR just not taken the order. When I started explaining I was upset about what happened, she passed off the phone immediately to a delivery driver who was there and he was very kind and reassuring. He said the store should have never taken the order. Not going to...

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! We have been ordering from here for years and sometimes it takes awhile for delivery which can be frustrating but this time we not only waited 2 hours after being told 45 minute wait but the food I ordered was completely wrong with missing items. When my fiancé called to complain he was given complete attitude which is unacceptable! I was a customer relations manager and I am appalled. The one lady who does work there always has so much unnecessary attitude but I ignore it as the food is usually good and they are always busy so I try to be understanding. Instead of refunding the missing items she decided to get nasty. I hope this was worth loosing a valued customer because I will never ever give them my business again and I will spread the word to every single person I know....
