We take out weekly at Tony Sushi ā¦.weekly but for my mother's 80th Birthday, she wanted to dine in, since her favorite dish is even more delicious, hot! 11 of us gathered for her special bday ..unfortunately it didnāt go as planned! My mother ordered the Crispy Prawn & Walnuts ā¦which sheās been ordering for years. I think we frazzled our waitress Wendy, she was doing her best but it seemed they changed chefs so the meal was simply just very different. On a normal day this wouldnāt matter at all but since it was her 80th birthday, dinner request, I felt horrible! The next day I called and spoke with our waitress, she told me they would make it right and I could pick it up. (Which made me happy, so I could make my mother happy) she told me to call back when I wanted it ordered. I called the following day to place the orderā¦I spoke with Courtney (A VERY Sweet VERY helpful American girl) she called May, May said it canāt be done ..š¤·š»āāļø So we decided on giving us a credit. Courtney said I should call back (the next day) when I did May became slightly frustrated ..she said bc I kept calling ..š which was instructed by her staff. Finally ..May explained that they were having a hard time getting certain ingredients (I guess from China) but she was going to make it happen ..which, the following day, she did! I picked up and all was good! So I told her I would write about my experience. Which I think is very fair since she made it happen! My mother was very happy and appreciative, as I wasšā¦this restaurant has a chic feel, itās very pretty ..good food very pleasant wait staff ..very efficient take out service etc ā¦Iāve never had any problems in the 20 years Iām living in the area! So I will give this restaurant a 5 star review...thank you, May @ Tony Sushi, for making it happen and for making my mother her favorite meal for her Birthday! Ā Ā Ā Read moreStopped here for the first time with my finance and 5 year old daughter. They have a sign out front stating 30% of hibachi dinner. We got the bill and they only took it off two meals and claimed that it wasn't applied to children. Which at this point makes the children's menu more expensive then the adult menu. When I brought it up to them they not only gave me an attitude about it, but they sat there arguing with me stating that, "Any other restaurant wouldn't give a child discount" which completely has nothing to do with their advertising. So they decided to charge my credit card twice and caused it to be basically the exact amount of the bill of what i had in balance on the card. The whole debate and aggravation took approximately 15 minutes to resolve after their multiple mistakes. Now with there being no extra money on the card (which was explained 5 or 6 times) they immediately got insanely nasty with us for not writing a tip on the card which obviously couldn't happen now that it would be maxed out because were charged multiple times. These people were entirely in the wrong multiple times and wanted to blame everyone else including "every other restaurant". Never again. It's a shame because the hibachi chef was great. But that's not enough for the terrible customer service. I never give ratings but I felt that people should be fairly warned about this place. First of all the appetizers that we ordered did not come out on time my boyfriend got his first and i had to wait about ten minutes later for mine by that time he was already finished. Second the miso soup (something very simple) and the actual sushi had no flavor at all when it did arrive and tasted old. Dinner was just yet another disappointment the rice was stale and again tasted old and the food lacked flavor. Ive had better Chinese food in the dominican republic at an all inclusive resort, I actually would choose that a million times over then ever go to this place again which says a lot. I usually never write reviews but it angers me that places like this think they can charge top dollar for subpar food. I told the waiter our disappointment in the food and she apologized and let the kitchen know. Someone who appeared to be the manager came over to help clear our plates but said absolutely nothing. The waitress was very nice and apologized even though it was not her fault of course. I did not bother sending anything back but I will never go to this establishment again and will tell the same to anyone else who is thinking of going. I donāt like to write bad reviews because sometimes establishments have bad days which is understandable but this seems to be an ongoing theme with these guys.
