3 friends and I met here for breakfast this past Sunday. It was very crowded and busy, which is normal for a Sunday breakfast. The parking lot was inpossible, almost nowhere to park, which i thought would be a good sign.. We ordered fairly quickly and enjoyed our time catching up...until the time kept passing with no food in sight. All told, it took almost an hour to get served. When the items did arrive, it was pretty disappointing. Eggs were scrambled but had zero flavor, toast was overcooked, and the corned beef hash I had requested well done looked like it had been briefly left to cook a few seconds longer on one side, so that most of it was still mushy. Pancake was fine, but nothing special. Although it had taken an hour to get our food, the check arrived within 10 minutes. We went from having no one checking in for an hour to 5 different staff members stopping by one right after another "to see if we needed anything" (more likely to free up a table). Finally, the handwritten check was very difficult to figure out and nothing seemed to add up right. At this point we were ready to go, so we paid and left. Overall, a disappointing experience and not one I would...

I recently walked into this place and was immediately hit in the face with the smell of freshed baked bread. It was simply amazing.

I proceed to sit down at the old fashion counter and was instantly greeted. As I looked around it was obvious to see this was the place locals preferred.

I order the omelet which came with home fries and fresh baked slices of bed. Best decision I've made in awhile. As the waitress put in my order I was amazed by the open kitchen and watched the man behind the counter hand make the pot pies for later in the day. As I became hungrier I eventually noticed that there were dozens of freshly made muffins only an arms length away. Tempted to take one, I refrained, and watched the woman to the left make my meal.

The whole experience was amazing. The food was great, the people were friendly and you could not beat the price. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but I'd absolutely stop here again and recommend it to...

Points for ambiance. The diner is located far from any traffic intersection and gives the impression you are more in a rural setting. The interiors have that quaint rustic charm and makes you feel you have gone back to the late 1980's-early 1990's. The food menu is simple , what you would ordinarily expect in any diner, but I liked the quality for the price. As a pancake aficionado, I would definitely recommend the pancakes. The batter is perfect(neither too sweet or much salty), the cake exterior just rightly crisp and the inside moist . The cheese mushroom omelette was well presented. One minor criticism I had was that the cheese did not mix finely with the egg yolk.So you might just order a plain omelette instead. Overall,I am happy I accidentally discovered the spot and I will be coming...

The much awaited @officialduncansdairy in Troy, New York. A historic diner rich in history and tasty food. Although known for the glazed donut, they have a developing menu, recently introducing the Mexican style breakfast bowl (which I’m still thinking about, it was that good) and other meals. The diner is situated on the outskirts on Troy. The vibe is more “small town” once you’re in there. Congratulations to the Duncan family for keeping it alive for so many years. #anotherdayanotherdiner #supportlocal #troy #albanyny

Used to be one of the best breakfast spots in Troy, but since their long-time (great) cook left recently, quality and consistency have sadly suffered. Take for example the blueberry pancakes. It’s like a “where’s Waldo” contest to find any actual blueberries in the batter (see picture) despite the added cost. Complete lack of handicapped parking, despite high % of disabled and/or older veteran patrons, is another disappointment. Try walking from any random parking space to the front door without tripping and breaking your leg, and you’ll feel like you deserve a prize. Servers are all hard-working and polite.
