Our party of 6 tried this restaurant out last night. Our waitress seemed annoyed and agitated at our questions about their menu and drinks at first. Typically, I never have an issue with a waitress, but I even commented to everyone that I found her to be very snotty which annoyed me. Everyone agreed. She became nicer once she learned it was our first visit there and her attitude toward us was better from there on out. 1 person ordered a ginger beer that had alcohol in it and was served a regular ginger beer, no alcohol. When the waitress was questioned, she went back to see what happened and told us they are out of the ginger beer he requested, so they gave him what they had as an alternative. No one thought to mention they are out of it and only thought “we’ll give him this instead” and not even tell him or ask him if he wanted something else in its place? 3 of us ordered the French Onion Soup which when presented to us was absolutely beautiful! The cheese looked perfect, but under the cheese the soups were all cold. We told the waitress and asked for new soups but hot this time. When she brought the hot soups back, they were much better! The pizza we ordered wasn’t anything to write home about, although the rack of ribs and the sauce that came with it was fantastic! It wasn’t my worst experience at a restaurant and it wasn’t the best either. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back. Quality control would turn this...
Read moreWent there a few times. Wife ordered pizza 3 different times. We we're expecting a different outcome, unfortunately not. The pizza is dark on bottom but kind of doughy in middle. The grease running of the trio cheese pizza is too much. Actually too much cheese is used. The pizza comes out pretty soggy. I tried it Actually spit it out in my napkin. I love pizza but not theirs. My chicken in a sandwich was overcooked. Portion size of the chicken was on the smaller side. The French fries came out warm but were a bit under cooked. My first beer the head was over 1" , this gives a 12 oz pour in a 16 oz glass. One reason to eat in the dining room is to get away from the noise in the bar area. Problem is they piped the music into the dining area via speakers. Not necessary as we can hear the entertainment also. This place was busy, they probably were trying to push orders out. Quality of food suffered. We live close buy but probably won't be back. With the price of eating out today I'll travel a bit further to get something that I feel is better to me. PS I can't bring myself to order a $32 brisket plate. The meat may be piled high but I...
Read moreI want to take a minute to thank Hill Creek Tavern. Last month we lost a family member suddenly. Hill Creek let us hold his celebration of life there. Christina and Stephen Robinson were longtime customers there. Steven is the one that we had the celebration of life four. Ashley and her staff went above and beyond for my family. They accommodated us in every manner, their graciousness and understanding went above and beyond and we didn't need to ask for anything as they were very attentive to whatever we needed. I would like to personally recognize Ashley as not just a business owner, but as a friend that was there for my family in their time of need. It wasn't just business that night. It was heart and compassion for a family that was dealing with a very terrible loss. The food that was provided was absolutely delicious. As someone who's lived in Texas for twenty six years now, I've gotten to know barbecue. I can honestly say that the pulled pork and the brisket was some of the best I've had. I want everyone to know that Hill Creek Tavern is not just about business it's also about family and friends. We are forever grateful for all...
