Long time STBC consumer, empty pint visitor since it opened.
I’ve been to dozens and dozens of breweries across the country and STBC easily stands out as a gem—especially during the summer and fall with its community centric atmosphere, live music, outdoor space, and great service. The flagships remain top notch—I only wish STBC would hold onto its roots and not rebrand itself as the King of dessert beer.

A few things:
Urge corporate to keep the old staples on tap—keeping in line with the original mission of quality and simplicity. The brewers star is plastered everywhere, after all. Personally, I suggest keeping Porter or 2xstout on rotation. Bring back another pale ale besides Phin and Matts; I suggest Live. The Dustin Hazer brewmaster era is sorely missed.
As far as food? All great. The old go-to beautiful mess could be improved. I go to other places and the nachos are evenly layered with cheese and meat. It’s seemingly gotten more difficult to enjoy with everything on top.
We just had the turkey apple butter panini and it was fantastic. Keep up with the generosity of content on the sandos and the amazing $8 burger specials. Also, I love the option of the side salad (If it’s not too much of a hassle, mix in a different green so it’s not all of the bitterness of that one particular green).
Suggested long term structural improvements:
First, I hope someday the limited number of bathrooms will be resolved—I understand the difficulty.
Second, more indoor space. I suggest STBC punch out the south wall all the way to the sidewalk with a timber frame extension. The trees and bushes are nice but space is more important. In doing so you could add six more tables or the possibility of fitting a longer bar near the interior window to the tanks. That’s almost doubling your capacity and potential revenue.

Read moreThis was our first time visiting, although we certainly have enjoyed their brews for many years now. Being from Pittsburgh and visiting their location here often, we felt we wanted the chance to experience when it all began. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. Visiting during the COVID-19 time of course we were wondering how they would be with safety precautions. I would give them a 11 out of 10 stars when it comes to being clean and following all safety measures to keep their customers safe but also their great employees protected. The roast beef sandwich special was excellent as were the Beautiful Mess Nachos. Which, almost left us wanting to get a second order they were so good! After a few flights and a few pints I would recommend this place for anyone who would like to get away and enjoy time with your friends. Can’t wait to come back when the...
Read moreThe brewery that I judge all other breweries by, because it is the gold standard! On top of having an excellent seasonal rotation of some of the finest beers, the atmosphere and location are among my favorite, especially after a day at the (nearby Chautauqua) lake or a hike through the local forests. Plentiful pub space in the winter is even better in the summer, when the grounds are a buzz among the many tables. If you’re lucky there’s an incredible band on the outdoor stage. I always appreciate that I’m able to bring the pups along and they are comfortable and welcomed. The food menu also has something for everyone, including vegetarian options. Don’t skip getting “the Beautiful Mess” - a staple appetizer u like any other nacho plate around!
Highly...
