Lakeview Hotel and Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Chautauqua

I'd think twice about eating here during any busy time. Food was your average restaurant food but service was beyond horrible. We were visiting on a snowmobile trip and arrived after 2 as the restaurant was thinning out from the lunch crowd. We were told we could be seated but it w would be about 10 minutes for someone to be at our table. And another 20 minutes to take food orders. We agreed and sat down. To our surprise our server came over with 3 minutes, greeted us and said she had to cash out a table abs she would be right back. 30 minutes later , she never returned. I then let the hostess know, who I watched tell our server of our issue. To make it worse, a couple was seated at a table across from us about 5 minutes after us. I watched another server take their drink order, order and bring out apps, take their meal order and be served their meal... before our server ever came back!! That is unacceptable. When the server did come take our orders, she never apologized and simply said "they've been slammed". After 50 minutes of waiting and with two kids, that is unacceptable!!! A simple apology and no excuses would have been sufficient. Especially since we watched a table be be served and eat even before we were acknowledged. It was so bad the hostess came over and said, I would not blame you if you left and went somewhere else. She then proceeded to give us a list of other dining options near by!! No offer of a comp, no apology from the server and just a lack of understanding from the server has me never...

There should be a zero star rating option for this place. We have stayed in the rooms on fishing trips back to that later. We always fish late and decided to quit early this time to grab a bite to eat at the restaurant. The people that work there are strange waiting to be seated the girl looks at us like she has never dealt with people in her life. Just all around bad service food takes way to long and the fish tastes like they grabbed some dead floaters out of the lake. The rooms are an adventure in themselves random drunk people walking in the halls acting like fools sleeping in the hallways asking if they can sleep in your room. That's not even the worst of it. They have communal bathrooms and showers. One night someone is in one of the showers didn't think nothing of it till the next morning and the shower is still being occupied. We made a joke saying there might be a dead body in there. Banged on door and no one answered we managed to get the door open and someone was laying in shower with water running. Started freaking out thinking guy was dead but noticed he wasn't blue. We screamed at him and the clown woke up and screamed Rock On. Shut the door and walked away. Stopped at on the bar the next night to tell the owner about and she didn't even seem to care. Stay far far away...

I have to say that this is one of the worst experiences that I've had at a restaurant. We arrived a little before noon and we chose to sit outside for the view of the lake. We were there with our daughter, son in law and three grandchildren that range in age from 1 years old to 8 years old. The waitress eventually came over and took our drink orders. We received the drinks in a typical amount of time but then we sat and waited for 15 minutes before the waitress came and took our food order. We then sat and sat and sat and sat until the waitress came by and we asked how much longer for the food. She told us at least another ten minutes because there had been a party of 8 that had come in before us. In the mean time a group of 6 arrived, placed their order and received their order before us. That was it, I went and found our waitress and told her to foregt the food and that we would pay for the drinks. She said that literally the food was nearly ready, I told her that it was way too late and that others are being served before us. The answer to that was because my son in law ordered chicken wings!!! We paid the bill and left with absolutely no apology from anyone. We'll never go there again and recommend that you...
