Stone Bridge Ice Cream — Restaurant in Town of Chester

After seeing all the positive reviews of this place, I was extremely excited to try out these flavors. And I've got to say, I've given it one star for the value for money; the amount of ice cream in the medium alone is amazing! However, the problems arise when looking not at the quantity, but at the quality.

The ice cream itself, while with good texture, lacks any defining flavors or taste. I ordered a root beer ice cream, and typically, the root beer flavor is very strong. However, this was incredibly mild and practically indistinguishable from random, shacked-up, roadside vanilla softees. The rest of the flavors unfortunately followed in suit; the black currant was shockingly poor in the flavor department, the orange and vanilla swirl was passable at best, and the jolly rancher (which I was intrigued by, seeing the menu) was plain disgusting.

While the employees and atmosphere were perfect for the ice cream, at the end of the day, the flavor and texture of the cream is what truly defines the greats. This was hands down the most plain, uninteresting, and uninspired dessert I've probably ever had, which is a worse crime than being disgusting. Alright, went here with my boyfriend and we spent around $12 for two medium sized ice creams. In fact instead of a medium we got an ice cream the size of a kiddie. When two nights later we went to hillbilly fun park in fort Ann, and we got two mediums again for $9 and got ice creams that were way bigger than a normal large. Obviously whoever was working that night doing the ice cream had no idea how to do sizing or was new at it. Seriously some of the best ice cream we've had in a while! As a peanut butter lover, it's hard to find ice cream places that carry it still. They mix in real peanut butter with the vanilla soft serve and it was heaven. My husband got a topping blended in and it was delicious. The medium was a huge portion but it tasted so good we devoured ours! I was a little worried about the soft serve and potential melting aspect but it was so cold it held its shape well.
