John's Famous Bagels & Deli — Restaurant in Town of Clarkstown

This review is for the John's Famous Bagels new location in Suffern, NY:

7/1/16 @ 7 AM As you entered the storefront, the smell of, what could best be described as, raw, hot garbage, filled the air. Another Customer was complaining about the smell to one of the servers. The other Customer also informed the server that the smell was coming from the garbage can outside. However, the servers attitude was apathetic toward the problem.

I ordered my food and a large iced coffee. I got my order and tried to put a straw in the iced coffee. The straw was not big enough for the size of coffee I ordered. I asked the server for a larger straw. The server's response was, "Oh, yeah, we don't have any larger straws." So I asked if he knew this prior to me ordering the large coffee. He ignored my question and asked another server, probably a supervisor, if they had larger straws. The "Supervisor" just said no. NO ATTEMPT TO HELP ME OR OFFER TO REFUND ME FOR THE COFFEE!

if you're ever looking to get something from this place ONLY get something simple. bagels are okay maybe with eggs and bacon... because they basically have to make them fresh. but other than that, stay away from any other meat sandwiches and prepared sides. they DO NOT make these fresh daily. if you notice, they keep some Boars Head meat up front, but when i saw my sandwich being made, not only did they already have the cheese sliced in a Tupperware container, but the salami is the worst i have ever had. almost like spiced baloney. i understand, salami isn't cheap. i know what they're doing. i have been going to this deli for almost 15 years. i was gone for about 5 of those and i thought they changed ownership because they redid the place and i think changed names. i think it was goldbergs. but it was the same 15 years ago too. so i dont really they really changed. the same problems i have with this place now are the same problems i had back then. i just want to warn you guys. by the way, i only go here because its right down the street and they open...

This place is literally spotless and their food is fantastic, love their bagels and Flagels so and they couldn’t be more friendly, they’re always aiming to please!!! For someone to say that there’s mold on the cheese and it’s filthy. It has to be a personal issue because that is so not true with my experience and I go there quite a bit. I’m not trying to put anyone down or be rude in any way but owning a service business for over 30 years I personally don’t give negative (only positive) reviews. It could literally ruin someone’s hard work and a huge investment!!! I just won’t go back after the 2nd visit( everyone is entitled to have a bad day)!!! I will always give a business the benefit of the doubt! So sorry but I felt the need to give this review!!! They truly are...
