Had no idea this place was a chain restaurant.
I wanted meat, I got meat, all white meat chicken. Large enough to be more than just a mouthful with every piece, and a variety of flavors that really offered some generous diversity.
Ordered over the phone going with three 8 piece Boneless chicken wings, choosing the Galbi style, Gangnam style, and Cheesling style. All together running me $39 before tax and tip, quite the wallet digger, but did the quality meet my expectations?
Back home I went through each box, and did find that each of the three had a very distinct flavor that didn't just feel like they started with the same base and then splashed a little something else on one half to mix it up. The Galbi was the closest to my concept of BBQ, smokey and sweet. Gangnam was much deeper in color and had some spice to it, but not enough to leave me crying. And the Cheesling was really close to just being garlic parm textured, but with a very unique "fried twinkie" flavor.
While each flavor was scoring a solid B+, the real impressive thing was the size. Each wing was at least two bites needed, sometimes three, and I got a pretty big mouth so I know there was some impressive girth to be had. And it was all white meat chicken too, no dark meat, so while this won't be the healthiest thing on the planet, it did make me feel a little better.
That said, $39 for 24 pieces of flavored chicken bites does feel a tad bit excessive. I only do this sort of thing one a week, so I didn't feel the hit too hard, but if you want to become a regular and enjoy the reward benefits offered, well I hope you have a good paying job.
Overall, nice flavor profiles, impressive meat size, rather pricy...
Read moreThis place is too overhyped. I ordered a mobile app in order to avoid the dinner rush. I came exactly at the expected time. The girl at the counter told me it would be five more minutes. Poor girl was rushing the packing orders but there were three cooks in the back standing around chatting, clearly not wanting to make anything else. After five minutes I asked again and the counter girl snapped at me and said “we are busy. It’ll be ten extra minutes.” (Why didnt you just say it’ll be fifteen minutes in the first place?)
I try to be patient towards restaurant workers but today I was on a time crunch. Also it’s discouraging when you see staff standing around chatting, ignoring order tickets.
Finally when I politely tried to cancel one of the kitchen guys blamed me saying “it’s not their problem to cancel orders and I have to figure it out myself.” Ugh. But i ordered directly on YOUR app though? After some confusion he finally cancelled it.
For a Korean restaurant they sure lack a lot of Korean...

We got the Gangnam chicken wings, bone-in, and they were perfect. Crispy, hot, and fresh. The sauce was really, really good, with fresh chopped onion and garlic. — 11/10
The Bukgoki bowl was excellent, although simple. Sometimes, less is more. — 9/10
Our mozzarella sticks were fresh and tasty. The breading was well seasoned and the cheese was super stretchy. — 10/10
