Finally! Some darn good onion rings! Ordered ahead of time over the phone, which was a task and a half. At first I thought they were so busy no one could answer the phone, but I think I figured out what happened after having actually gotten to the restaurant. The restaurant is actually, officially, closed for the season as of October 30th according to a paper taped to the door to the place. I was only able to order take out when I called the Pro Shop, and the guy there actually took my order. That was cool. Went with an order of a Caesar Salad, the basket of Onion Rings, and the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich. The total came to a little over $40, which is a bit pricy, but this is a golf course so that's *ahem* par for the course. Heh. When I got home and opened it all up I was impressed with the visual quality, looked great, but the real test was the taste. Well the onion rings were phenomenal. Perfectly crispy, abundant flavor, and that horseradish dip that came with them paired so well. And that's coming from a guy who doesn't like horseradish typically. The salad was equally fantastic, every bit of it coated with just enough dressing, a light sprinkling of cheese, and the homemade croutons kept their crunchy-ness despite the trip home. And then the main course, the sandwich. Well it was exactly what it said it would be, a chicken parmesan between two buns. A thin spread of marinara sauce, two chicken patties, with some great buns that really held onto the fillings. The accompanying fries were alright, but the sandwich was the real deal. Overall I was throughly happy with my purchase, especially those onion rings, man, they were so good. Great job Cooley Kill, you get my thumbs up.

Don't waste your time and money here. Many menu items are not available and the ones that are will only dissappoint. They either forgot to stock the kitchen or are too cheap to make a proper meal. Wait staff was friendly but rather embarrased about the food they had to serve. Ordered chicken wings and receiced the tiniest wings ever. More like quail wings. Also a plate of nachos...but with hardly any cheese? Then the reuben sandwich, with a small chunk of pickle on the side. Wheres the beef? Maybe 2 slices tops. And the pickle chunk...is there a pickle shortage? Just close the place up stick to golf. What an embarrassment

Our first time here! Service is amazing and the food is even better. Pictured is the arancini appetizer, risotto and mozzarella then fried and served with a tomato cream sauce. Decadent is a good word to describe it. We ordered the sirloins and the sear was mmmmm. Grilled asparagus was cooked perfectly I was shocked. Definitely will return and maybe even become members of the golf course 😉

We keep going back to the restaurant at the Van Patten Country Club hoping for the top notch salmon salad they once served. Of course the place has changed hands and names at least twice since that salad and although you can order a salmon salad, it bears only a slight resemblance to the original. In fact. I ordered the grilled chicken on the strawberry salad while my wife tried the salmon and I got the better deal, more substantial despite counting only 2 cut up strawberries. Even so, both of us were hungry later that evening, a testament to the shrinking sizes but not prices, $20 for mine and $22 for hers. The setting was beautiful, on the terrace outside with green lanes stretching forever. It was a hike for the waitress but she was cheerful and attentive, no complaints; in fact, she brought me a dish of vanilla ice cream not on the menu although it was melting to the point of spilling over the cup. Definitely worth the $2 she charged for ( should have tipped her more). Inside was hot and stuffy, as though they were conserving money on AC, so the terrace was a better choice, the main...

Was there for the first time on 6-15 for dinner. Was seated outside as it was a perfect day weatherwise. Waitress was attentive and very pleasant. My wife and I ordered our meals, received our drinks, and looked forward to a nice dinner. We were then was subjected to a LOUD phone call two tables away from ours. ( there were only two tables occupied) Various and numerous obscenities were heard from the both sides of their conversation pertaining to how the game of golf should be played. ( F--- this, F--- that )I asked the waitress to correct this problem and she in turn informed the manager. Absolutely nothing was done and the loud, obscene phone call went on and on until these jerks paid their bill and left. Food was OK but everything was tainted by this lack of management's civil responsibility. It should not be left to the customer to police the environment for rude, obnoxious behavior. Probably will not return.

Update; 12/13/23 Still have not heard back from management after...
