All together, everything turned out to be pretty mediocre. Tried to order online but the preferred service wouldn't allow me to check out, something to do with the menu prices being incorrect. So I called in the order, which at first they stated they don't do, but after my explanation their online system was borked they relented and took it. Went with the onion rings and the waffles and chicken, and came to around $31 before tip. Had put in my pickup for 4:00PM but when I arrived at 4:05PM the order still wasn't ready. In fact I ended up sitting at the bar area until 4:20PM, a rather significant delay for the order I placed at noon time. Got home and dug in, immediately being disappointed in the onion rings for their size. They're the shoestring variety, which is great for on sandwiches and salads, but as an appetizer or finger food they are kind of annoying to consume. The rings are just far too small to properly enjoy. That said, the dip that came with them paired perfectly. Then there was the chicken of the chicken and waffles which was beyond salty, I think the chef might have accidentally poured a tad to much salt into the buttermilk breading. Could almost feel my blood pressure going up. The waffles were alright though, the spicy honey butter they were topped with had soaked into the waffles and made them soft and sweet. Though not spicy at all. Overall it was an alright way to end the week, probably could have been better, but I'm satisfied.

Dinner, OK. Brunch, Terrible. First visit was for brunch, Bloody Mary was spot on. Requested gin and the bartender was friendly. Even up sold me the chilled shrimp. Shrimp was seasoned & cooked well. Steak & eggs ($22) was atrocious. Ordered soft scrambled and got chopped up over cooked eggs on top of mush home fries lacking any type of flavor. The flank steak is pre cooked medium well. The marinade was nice but served cold on top of hot food. It was the only edible part of the sloppy presented meal. Chicken & Waffles… super juicy breast of chicken fried in old oil leaving it bitter and zero salt after it was fried. I was told on my dinner visit the fryers are changed at the start of the week. Sunday being the end. Caution to ordering fried food on a weekend. Waffles were sweet, maple syrup sweet, honey butter sweet… unbalanced meal. Way too sweet. Fried green tomatoes, Pimento cheese with tomato jam, nice plate. Lacked salt from the fryer. Luna chix sand pretty balanced with the honey garlic sauce and acidity from the pickles. Mango Slaw on its own was boring & bland. French fries were ok. Again- season your fried foods like you learned in culinary school week 1. Louisiana Chicken Pasta was a surprising lovely meal. Could’ve used fresh scallions for garnish and a pop of fresh flavor. Seasoned well. Creme brûlée… simply put, gross. Trying too hard to be gastro pub. Keep it simply and use various flavored sugars on top instead.

Brunch at “The Flats”. The Flats recently introduced a new Brunch menu and I was able to go the first day. The menu is great, and I even switched brunch spots to come here and try the new menu. I have to start with the Lobster Breakfast Tacos. My wife ordered them, she’s obsessed with all things lobster, so this was right up her alley. My wife has a fish allergy but shellfish she’s fine with, lobster tails or shrimp and she’s all good. My wife said the lobster was kind of flakey and tasted strange, later after brunch she had a bad allergic reaction to the lobster and was vomiting for hours later. So either the lobster is prepared with fish or it’s fake lobster. If that’s the case, The Flats should really note that on the menu. Besides the lobster issue she said the tacos were “okay, but could use a sauce because it was a little dry”. I had the Brunch Flatbread, which was good but a little messy, and kind of hard to eat. But the meal itself was good. The French Toast Bake was excellent and what I’m ordering next time I go. Overall the location is very nice, great atmosphere, great outdoor patio dining and fun new brunch ideas. Our server was excellent also, very polite and helpful! The brunch was also surprisingly affordable, we expected the bill to be a lot higher. Only issue was with the lobster, so just be careful of that dish. Would recommend the restaurant still.

Good potential. If you live in the area this is a recent addition to CP's food scene. They have a small entree menu, but one with a few different offerings than the usual place in town. Nice location, parking was a little lacking for a new strip of buildings. Looks really nice inside with tv's around the bar, open floor plan, gorgeous patio with lots of outdoor seating. We sat inside where it sounded a bit like a cafeteria. Acoustics make it very loud in there even when the place wasn't packed (Saturday at 4:40).

Server was very friendly, professional, and attentive. Obviously the kitchen staff was struggling to keep up as food took a while to come out. the server apologized to us (and i heard a few other apologies to other tables nearby). When food came out, my wife received the wrong sandwich/wrap, so had to send it back and have them grab the correct plate. A minor error that was resolved quickly. Overall food all tasted good. Mac and Cheese with braised short rib added was ok. No strong flavors or great pops in taste. Just ok. One kid had the reuben and said he liked it. He got waffle fries and once i got the bill realized it was a $3 upcharge for waffle fries, which no big deal but would be nice to know up front. My daughter got the burger and fries. It was ordered medium well. The burger was close but visibly cooked too long on my side. You could bit into the burger and literally see a horizontal line across the burger with the top half a little pink and the bottom half grey, so obviously kicked too long on one side or too little on the other. Tasted fine, but i've never seen a burger come out quite like that.

Got the check and paid in reasonable amount of time. However, it wasn't until after I got the check back I noticed the fine print on the original check that said if you pay by credit card they add a 3% surcharge to cover the credit card fee. Not a lot of money, but kind of garbage that places are starting to pass this cost to the consumer.

Close to giving this place 4 stars, but with the wait for food, getting the wrong item, the loud environment , and the credit card surcharge it falls to 3 for now. I'd be willing to go back and give it...

We’ve had The Flats on our list of restaurants to try since it opened, and finally had the opportunity to try it tonight. We were greeted cheerfully when we arrived at 5 pm, and seated immediately. Our server followed up promptly, and pointed out the specials for the evening, and took our drink order. After perusing the menu, I ordered a burger with fries (there are several to choose from) , and my wife had the California wrap with a tortellini side. Both were served within a reasonable wait, and were very good. Our server checked back a couple of times, and all was well, but the follow up was appreciated. I ordered a second glass of wine while my wife finished her meal, and it was promptly provided. We then decided to split a piece of carrot cake for dessert, and it was exceptionally good - creamy and generous frosting, excellent texture, and a dollop of whipped cream! The owner stopped by to check on our satisfaction, and we had a congenial conversation. I also saw a couple of other items being delivered to other patrons which looked enticing, and the chicken caesar salad caught my eye, and I made a mental note to try it on our next visit. On top of everything else, they had live entertainment - this evening it was Jeff Brisbin, a very talented musician who provided a nice variety of songs accompanied by his excellent guitar skills. With all of the dining options available in Saratoga County, The Flats is worth trying -...
