We stopped at the Honey Bear for a wonderful warm up lunch along side of the Sno Eagles Snomo trail on Wednesday. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, which is topped with bacon, onion rings, lettuce/tomato, and a Chipotle sauce of some kind. It was called something like the Special Honey Burger...but don't quote me on that. It was delicious, and served with Cole Slaw, pickle, and a choice of potato. I chose potato salad, which was also very good. My husband ordered a Bleu Burger, which was a burger topped with a lot of Bleu cheese, and some red onion. Both sandwiches were good sized, besides being delicious! Previously, we had only tried their Fish Fry, which is also good, and served every day of the week.

Hadn’t been there in years thought we would try it again! Mistake! Friday night, went there cause online they said they had a beef sandwich! Nope! Only fish and 4 piece chicken. Hate fish, got chicken. She brought out what looked like shrunken Cornish hens, couldn’t tell a breast from a thigh they were the same size, the legs were so small they were laughable! Food was dry and just not good. Server did bring me extra legs cause they were so small, which I appreciated, but due to the size they were dry as dust! My dogs appreciated them, which was all they were good for! $17.00 for chicken, Nope! Sorry Honey Bear will probably be another 20 years before we return, if ever! Oh and Smile! 😃

Went here for a fish fry while on vacation. Nice place, but it gets packed quickly and there isn't a lot of room inside.

The fish fry was good, but nothing spectacular. I wouldn't wait 45 minutes for a table like we had to. I feel you can get a fish fry that's just as good else where with little to no wait. The fish was cooked very well and the batter was crispy. The fries are nothing special and the coleslaw was good.

The con: when we got there at 445, there was a 45-60 minute wait. We wanted to eat here so we left and drove around for a bit. When we came back we had another 20-30 minutes (still in the original time window as we came back early so we wouldn't miss our spot). We then went outside to wait. Went back in 15 minutes later and we heard them say our party didn't show. Thankfully we were there and said, we were waiting out front. We ended up with a table in about five minutes. The bar area isn't big enough to hold everyone waiting for a table so people wait outside. Some were out back and some, like us, were out front. They didn't go out the front door to announce tables being ready which almost resulted with us losing our spot.

Overall this place is nice, but could use a better waiting list system for people who are outside waiting. We would not go back unless there was less of a wait. Food is good, but not for an hour wait. Would have given 3.5, but rounded up as it's a great little...

Good chicken wings, but poor service. They charged for a second order of fries without telling us because I ate a few off my boyfriend's plate. I questioned the check and was told it was "policy". There is no mention of this on their menu. That's just sleazy business practice. This place used to be just another tiny restaurant in the north woods but since it's been filling up the parking lot over the last few years, they've decided to act a little entitled and cheap. Sorry honey bear, but I'll be going elsewhere now. Which is sad because I have good memories of my time there. I refuse to patronize a place that gouges visitors because they think they're sitting at the popular kids' table now. Aside from my recent poor experiences with unknown/unwritten/surprise policies and service (there is a younger gentlemen there who is rather snippy and hovers to make sure you don't eat some French fries off of your partner's plate) the food is pretty good. Especially the chicken wings. They're HUGE. Probably the best value...

WOW!! I don't know what else to say! A group of us 5 went for a Friday night fish fry at 5:00 and it wasn't too busy. We got seated fairly quickly and were handed a double sided menu. Since we were there for the fish fry nobody even looked to see what else they offered.3 people ordered Cod while 2 of us ordered the baby walleye. I also ordered a cup of Clam Chowder which was amazing!! Once we got the food I was in total shock!! I have NEVER seen that much fish on one plate EVER!! You get 5 pieces of walleye plus the side dishes and for the price it's unbelievable. The flavor is amazing and the sad part is that you can't possibly finnish your dinner! I would have given it 5 stars if the service was better. As we continued our dinner it became obvious, this place has always been popular but if you don't get there early, you could wait for an hour for a table because it's such a small dining area. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT FOR ANYONE LOOKING FOR A REALLY GOOD...
