Dom's Pizza Subs & Wings — Restaurant in Town of Colonie

Visiting the area for a conference, I ordered a $16 medium pie, half Reuben, half Chicken Wing. On the Reuben side, I counted five shriveled up strips of corned beef, each about 2-3" in length, and 1" in width. Why not cut each of those strips into smaller pieces to better cover the pie? Also, the corned beef was clearly cooked separately (as it should be, for health reasons), however it probably would have been much juicier had they topped the freshly-made pizza during the last few minutes in the oven, rather than keeping the corned beef in the oven for the entire cook time. The corned beef was effectively cooked twice, and came out extremely dry and borderline brittle. Appropriately, the corned beef and sauerkraut were laid over a bed of melted swiss (with a side of thousand island) to complete the Reuben half of the pie.

Although also unevenly distributed, the Chicken Wing half was definitely better, and the cubes of chicken were juicy and savory. Not to be confused with their similarly-described "Buffalo Chicken" slice/pie, the "Chicken Wing" one comes with buffalo sauce and chicken over mozzarella cheese with a side of bleu for dipping. I'm not exactly sure how the Buffalo Chicken differs, but I clearly remember it being different than any buffalo chicken pizza offered at any other pizzeria I've ever been to in my life. They should either switch the names of the two variations, or eliminate one to avoid confusion.

Overall, it seems that Dom's is the fan favorite for an area seemingly lacking in local (non-chain) food options, however I wouldn't go so far as to call them the best (as they proclaim) by any measure. I've only had two of their specialty pie flavors, so can't comment on anything else. I can suspect that a lot of their out of town business comes from local advertising - their name and coupons were on the back of my hotel room key...

Tremendous pizza. Five star but that's where it ends. Girl that took my order was border line argumentative over a wing placement order when explaining the garlic Parm/buffalo garlic Parm option. When I arrive her customer skills were even less impressive as I had left a decent tip and said thank you and she didn't even acknowledge me. Said it a second time just in case she didn't hear me. Still no acknowledgement. Needless to say I won't be leaving her any tip in the future. And then the " white garlic Parm" wings seemed to be missing the garlic and the Parm. Even the plain wings were below average at best. I literally threw half of them away. Sorry but if you are going to charge top prices for wings I better be getting top quality. I would go back for their pizza for sure. Very impressed with that. *A little update now that I have read other reviews. Seems like the owner doesn't take criticism too well as he replies to each review. Saw a couple other reviews where others were not happy with the customer service. Seems he made excuses for his employees instead of accountability. Basically blaming the customer. This girl that took my order last night was border line argumentative over the smallest of an issue. Guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. As amazing as the pizza was you can't buy respect. May have to reconsider going back. RUDE!! Let me just start with that. I called last night to order pizza. I see commercials on all the time so I really wanted to check them out as they say they’re family owned and local. I’ve never ordered from them before so I was curious if they would deliver to my address or not. When I called I was immediately put on hold but the girl was super polite. Once I was taken off hold an extremely grumpy gentlemen who sounded like he’s been smoking cigarettes since he came out of the womb asked me “what do you need”. I stated “I’m just checking to see if you deliver out to me” to which he replied “I don’t know where you live.” ……excuse me? I ordered pizza and apps but he just kept saying “what else do you need” and finally he hung up on me directly after taking the card number. Honestly I’m disgusted with how this man spoke to me. I should have hung up on him as soon as he got on the phone. I’ve let everyone know how I was spoken to on the phone and I don’t believe any of my family or friends will be stopping here either again or for a first time. I would have rather stayed on hold longer if this jack wagon was in too much of a rush to take my order. Better yet, he should never be allowed to speak to any of your customers. Editing this to add that after a long day of working customer service and being berated by my own customers as well I didn’t need to spend $45 to get berated after work hours.
