My elderly Mom wanted to go here and it was my first time. She likes this place and eats here often. It's in a small strip mall I have passed a million times and only went to the laundry mat there once. The cafe is small with 2 rooms but it was packed with locals. Looks like a family run business because there was a boy "helping" behind the counter. (Not in a bad way he was happy and surrounded by people he knew.) I immediately saw a decades long time waitress from a huge dinner in town sitting at the counter talking to someone while she ate. To me thats a good sign when an experienced waitress eats somewhere. They KNOW good places. Anyway we sat in the second room just as a rowdy group of local retired men were leaving. They were very happy and stood outside gabbing for another half an hour. We ordered coffees and western omlet with homefries and asked for well done. The waitress was polite and the cook listened to the well done request. I swear I took a picture of our food but I can't find it in my phone. Anyway, while the food was exactly what we ordered I think it tasted different. Not bad, but just different spice or cooking oil on the homefries. The omlet was ok nothing special. Mom didn't taste the difference but I did. So to sum it up I gave 4 stars for food because it was just ok. I would eat here again but like to try something else to be fair to the cafe. I will let you all know the next time I go with my Mom, and yes I will go again :). The cafe was clean, had nice staff and overall the...
Read moreOrdered eggs over-medium, canned hash extra crispy, rye toast & home fries, crispy. Coffee & iced water to drink. Hubby ordered a BLT & a fruit cup. Eggs were completely undercooked to the point that the white was still clear and eggs were completely runny, home fries were mush, as well as the hash. Mushy Hash was dropped right on top of my mushy home fries on the plate. Toast was good. I don't like to complain, so hubby asked for another order of crispy hash since the toast was the only thing on my plate that I ate. I ended up eating the fruit cup and of course, by the time i got my crispy hash, he had finished his meal.
The service was great, the servers were super polite and helpful. When we got the check, everything was written the way I ordered it, the cooks just didn't cook it the way I asked. It was very busy and I felt bad for bothering and inconveniencing the servers. I dont recommend going there unless you want your food cooked the way the cook feels like cooking it. We...
Read moreI don't know what impressed my husband and me more, the smiles and welcoming, positive vibes from every single member of the staff (and there were a lot!), their speed and efficiency in seating and serving us, or the fantastic quality and quantity of the food. We sat at the counter and watched the magic at the griddles and burners happen up close while regulars next to us lauded the establishmentand its workers. We have never seen that many people in such a small space cranking out that volume of delicious, piping hot food....a well oiled machine of people who certainly appear to love and respect each other and take immense pride in their product. Google reviews and a personal recommendation got us there after coming from out of town for a pickleball tournament up the road. We'd get our asses kicked in pickleball anytime if we knew a delicious meal at this restaurant was waiting for us after. Kudos to...
