Church Street Deli & Pizza — Restaurant in Town of Copake

I've been here a few times for lunch before, I came in for dinner tonight and what I experienced was completely uncalled for.

We ordered 4 items and had to send back 3 of them. The marinara sauce was watery with a disgusting amount of oregano, it was so bad that it made the food completely inedible. The chili was flavorless. The French onion soup was okay.

My husband asked the manager for a resolution because we spent almost $50 on food we didn't eat. At no point were we rude and demanding. The manager refused to tell us his name but he's about 5'7 with a whiney voice and a wannabe cop mustache.

He said he wouldn't resolve the issue, he told us "he wouldn't waste more time or food on us" and to "never come back" 🙄 really dude, you couldn't at least wait til I finished my mid grade soup??? What an...

We wanted a late breakfast so we called ahead. It was 1:55. The man I talked to said they stopped serving breakfast at 2:00 but that if we came now they would make it for us. We arrived at 2:15 and told them about the phone call. We sat down with the breakfast menu and then were informed they wouldn’t make breakfast because it was after 2. I asked to speak to the man I talked to on the phone but he had left. And the boss refused to let them make breakfast for us. And the staff was NOT nice about it. They were not busy at all. Nice Ambience, Very Clean and Comfortable. All of the Booths have window views. There is a nice food selection at reasonable prices. I had a Big Cheeseburger with Fries and it was delicious, however I requested Medium Rare and got Medium. I've heard this can be an issue later on the day, but before noon they are more on the spot. If you want the temp of your burger to be right, just be insistant and they will be happy to fix the problem. The food arrived quickly, there was organic ketchup, and overall I'm very happy with this little small town gem of an eatery beneath the Taconic mountains. I'm quite full as well!
