The beans and chick peas in the salad smelled like death. No, it wasn’t strange or suspicious smell, it was strong viciously disgusting odor.
My wife immediately spat her first bite out on a napkin and ran to the bathroom cutting a woman in the line there. When I smelled her salad out of my stupid curiosity, I almost vomited.
We notified the waitress about the smell, she took it away and offered to bring another one, we refused. I still ate my veal dish, but my wife couldn’t touch anything.
Note that my wife and I had traveled in South Asia and at least I had never hesitated to try things from the poorest and ugliest road cafes. But nothing even closely compared to the smell of the greenish chick peas in the salad. So I sort of expected the whole kitchen stuff to come to us to apologize. Instead only the waitress noted ‘apologies’ and moved on, not paying any attention to my wife not eating anything.
When I gave my credit card to the waitress, I was 100% sure that we would never be charged for the salad. But when the waitress came back with the receipt, the sum charged was suspiciously large. There was no itemized break down. So I asked the waitress if the salad was removed. She said yes. So I took the receipt and went to my car where my wife and daughter were waiting for me. When I showed the receipt, my wife ran the numbers and we determined that we were still charged for that salad. I wanted to leave regardless, but the absurdity of paying for that salad was too much, so we went back.
The manager asked my wife if she ate all of that salad. We calmly said no. He then removed the salad from the bill plus gave us an additional $3 discount while making some third-rate joke about me working in police in my country.
We just left and picked up some Shake Shack on the way. Not the healthiest choice, but sometimes standardized ultra-processed food just makes sense.
Additional details: the napkin with my wife’s spit was never removed; the other tables were read beautiful specials that for some reason they skipped for us. Loved the decor. Also my wife saw a small cockroach in...
Read moreWith it being our one year wedding anniversary we decided to get food from here as a special treat for ourselves and based on the reviews we were in for a treat. We ordered it as take out. We ordered the caprese and eggplant rollatini appetizers which were absolutely stunningly delicious. The sauce on the rollatini was absolutely perfect not sweet and not acidic at all. The caprese was fresh and light and delicious! I ordered the pasta fagoli soup and the chef called me and explained they ran out of it for the day (them running out means it's definately homemade everyday and it was like 90 degrees yesterday amazing they sold out of a soup) and asked if he could make me either chicken noodle or stracciatella I opted for the stracciatella. The chef was so apologetic and kind when asking if I wanted something different. He then explained that it was going to take a little longer for the food because he was making the vegatable risotto I ordered from scratch!! I said no problem. We also ordered the linguini Alfredo and the chicken parm sub. When my husband went to pick it up he had to wait for a couple minutes for it to be done which again was perfectly ok since everything was being made from scratch. The chef them gave us three free slices of pizza since we had to wait a few extra minutes and because he didn't have a chance to make bread. I can not explain how amazingly kind and nice the people who work here were. They go above and beyond to make their customers happy. On top of that food was so delicious it was insane. We just moved to corn wall and this will be my go to Italian place for as long as were here! The food was incredible the people were incredible. It was just a fantastic experience for our 1st wedding anniversary! Thank you so much for making it...
Read moreMy husband's coworker (they are chef's) recommended this place, we live 10 minutes away from here, we've passed by this place so many times since moving here 6 years ago,but haven't had time to stop by to check it out, well, we finally did, what a nice place It was late Friday evening after a snow storm, (around 8:30); We were greeted by Frank we were the only ones there, Frank presented us with a tea box, so cute, there was a variety of teas, he told us about the specials of the day, my husband already had his mind & taste buds set, we had the calamari & another appetizer with mozzarella tomato & shaved meat with balsamic vinegar over spring mix lettuce, both were really good, the portion was enough for both of us to share, we also had the Fungi Mushroom pizza, that was very good as well, there are different types of mushrooms drizzled with truffle oil, so decadent, so different Frank explained all the ingredients on each dish, he also offered my husband & me a complimentary glass of wine with dinner, how nice of him My husband (being a chef) is not easily impressed, (he is not a snob, but he will tell you how he feels about a dish & ask about the prep, & quite possibly learn a new technique), said his only regret was we did not discover this place sooner So, Frank, thank you for introducing us to our new date night place Very nice atmosphere, very welcoming, we will see...
