To be honest with you and I never thought i would be saying this but Cortlandt Colonial has truly disappointed myself and my family. We entrusted Evan and his staff with an after interment lunch in honor of my father in law who passed. Evan and 2 of his staff members Erika and Suzie did not go above and beyond to make themselves hospitable. There was only one member of the staff Typhany and if I could give her her own rating of 5 stars I would, she was the only one that went out of her way. Erika and Suzie were absolutely rude and I guess don't communicate with Evan or vice versa. When we originally set up our lunch we told Evan that we would take care of any special orders and pay or start a tab for our guests. I guess that wasn't communicated and Erika decided to say no to 5 of my guests right from the start. Luckily I was standing there and told her to start a tab and informed her that this was already discussed. No apology from Erika for disappointing our guests. After we covered this, they still failed to communicate that if anyone wanted an espresso or a cappuccino we would pay as well. Yelling at the kids when let alone mind you that it was a Buffett so hardly any trays were brought out to tables except for clean up. So you know kids get curious and don't want to sit still but we did our best to control that. The extra requests that were made totaled up to 100 dollars. Ridiculous to disappoint my guests for that and turn them away. My guests even felt that it was wrong to order even after I assured them it was ok. We waited almost an hour to talk to Evan, and he did nothing to make it right, he could have knocked some money off our bill but I guess that wasn't worth it after they failed on one of the most meaningful gatherings for my family. The food was mediocre at best and very slow to come out. The calamari were requested numerous times because they were not willing to make that much. They kept running out and we were assured that it wasn't going to happen and that the food would flow nicely. Train your staff Evan, I never thought that Cortlandt Colonial would get complacent. Erika and Suzie need to work on their manners and customer hospitality. Like I said Typhany is a keeper. She should have received the whole tip, because Erika and Suzie did nothing for us except be rude to our guests who took the time to let us know. My mother in law was upset and you have lost our business Evan you didn't even make it right remember that next time. That left a bad impression on my family Well people think twice before making a choice of where you want to do a special occasion because we have other restaurants that have been better. Taorminas, Table Nine, and even Colonial Terrace to name a few. Staff needs a serious upgrade and retraining. Btw the food that was left that was paid for wasn't even offered to be wrapped or we could have donated it to the shelters in the area. Sorry Evan but you needed to see this. This was truly a bad experience for my family...

Read moreI just had my bridal shower at Cortlandt Colonial last Saturday and a week later I am still speechless. First of all, the food is IMMACULATE. Our guests were coming up to us all day telling us how delectable everything was. And they are right - we have been eating leftovers all week and it is just as scrumptious! They provided everyone with their own individual tongs and containers with dipping sauces to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Everything was planned with the upmost care and safety was a top priority of this venue. The room we were in was beautiful, they helped to transform the room to create the winter wonderland shower of my dreams. It was extremely peaceful, cozy, and very spacious. No one felt too crowded or cluttered and it was the perfect set up to accommodate for all of our guests. Lastly, there aren’t enough words to describe the remarkable staff at Cortlandt Colonial. We had been working with Evan who has been everything and more. Planning this event took away so much stress due to Evan’s accommodating and giving nature. He set up and hosted the most delicious omelette bar and was such a pleasure to be around. Him and his staff even packed up every last bit of food that was not eaten and let us take all of it home for leftovers. There is a tremendous sense of community at Cortlandt Colonial and now more than ever is the time when we need to come together to support this establishment and their more than exceptional service. I cannot thank Cortlandt Colonial and Evan enough for their tremendous contribution to my special day. Delicious food and wonderful people - what more could you ask for?! Thank you...
