I went in to have a salad at 2:30 in the afternoon. There were 2 tables of four, 3 tables of two, a few at the bar and myself. Not crowded at all. Two waiters. After sitting for approx 7 min. The waiter rushes by and says he'll be right with me. Comes by 5 min later with a menu. Zips away. Maybe another 7 or 8 minutes later comes back to take my order. He brings my iced water and leaves. BTW, he didn't apologize at all for his poor service. I said I hoped my food would be faster than the service. He said it would be, but no apology. I'm not paying attention to the other tables. Out comes food at one table of 4. Ok. About 5 minutes later, the other table of 4 gets their meal. I looked over, and the two tables of two didn't have food yet. A woman comes out of the kitchen and tells the one table of two girls that their meals would be coming. Then the other table of two got their meal. After 5 minutes or so, the two girls get their meals served. I didn't hear an apology. I'm the last one in, and I have not been served. It's a salad! I finally got up and walked out. I realized I had been in there for 40 minutes and not served. 12 people in the restaurant! I'm done with that place. I can certainly understand when it's crowded. Read moreI don't know how pleased others are with curbside pickup from this Applebee's... Personally I am completely disappointed!!! Applebee's created "CURBSIDE PICKUP!!" This is basically the ONLY franchise restaurant available in cortland, I would think they'd strive to be great? Maybe the food comes out great and timely while sitting inside BUT EVERYTIME I've ordered CURBSIDE, I'm given a time to be there, I get there and I wait, the employee tells me it will be out shortly and I wait... 20-25mins goes by and they finally come out w/my order, again apologizing for how long it took, then to ASK me if I want use the remaining balance of my gift card (which is usually $5-$7) as the TIP for whoever!!! Like whaaaat??????!!!! Are you serious RN?! It REALLY should be more like "Here's your order and we're sorry for the wait, HERE'S A $5 GIFT CARD FROM Applebee's to show we appreciate your business " or take $5 off this order... now I know it's NOT the waitress fault so I'm never upset with them and I always give in and give them a tip, to WALK the food to my car. BUT there has to be a manager there and REALIZE WHATS GOING ON!! So FINALLY 40mins later I get home and my food is burnt, soggy, dried out, just thrown together. I might as well just go 45mins...
Read moreIf it wasn’t for our host we would still be waiting for our food! We have been here well over 2 hrs, our waitress disappeared and our food was never delivered until we asked our host to help look into it. Our host came back with our food because it was sitting there who knows how long and it was ice cold. I had to clear our own table to make room. The food was cold and some incorrect and I had to go get the manager myself because no one was available to help. Turns out our waitress was reassigned to the carry out door and we were abandoned and then the manager tried to excuse it as lack of help. Her idea of apologizing was making excuses and taking a little bit off the $200 bill. I had to negotiate for an acceptable compensation and it took two different discussions to actually get the corrections executed because she was too busy to just take care of it, which made us there even longer!!
Poor management will not destroy this place because it’s the only real chain restaurant in the town, but it will decrease their sales and number of return visits and people will definitely consider somewhere else as an option. I would encourage upper management to step in because this location needs help.
