The outside is very unassuming, it just looks like your neighborhood bar. Don't be fooled. There's patio seating but we sat inside. It is loud! Don't expect to carry on any meaningful conversation, but as parents we don't really mind much, it drowns out our kids being loud. They had me at 5 ciders on tap! I tried the draft Doc's sour cherry hard cider. Oh, how have I not known you in my life? Delicious! I'm already looking for places to buy this seasonal cider in bottles. We started with fried mozzarella for an appetizer. Crisp outside, fried perfectly, gooey inside, with a nice marinara sauce. I got the black bean quesadillas. Came with a side of corn chips with queso, sour cream and salsa. I'm a Texas girl, good luck impressing me with your queso but this was quite good. The quesadillas were grilled nicely. One of my sons got the Mac and cheese without bacon. It came in a skillet, good flavor and creamy. My husband got buffalo chicken nachos and didn't seem too impressed but he tried my other son's cojo chicken quesadillas and said they were very good. 4 of us with app and 4 extra drinks(1 alcoholic) and tip was about $85. But 3 of us had enough food left over for another meal. Solidly good food and a staggeringly large selection of adult beverages, with good, friendly service as well.

The Cask & Rasher is a hidden gem in the Hudson Valley. The atmosphere is a unique blend of a the owners' funky and cozy brewpub style combined with that of a historic Hudson Valley building. The food is consistently excellent, balancing some unique flavors with classic hearty dishes. They have a great draft beer selection, and their craft cocktails are a true reflection of the place - sophisticated without being pretentious. I actually loved the Cask & Rasher so much that I decided to have my wedding reception there, and it couldn't have been more perfect! Everyone in my diverse extended family (~35 people) loved it. From the appetizers including shaved brussel sprouts, mussels, and chicken wings in their unique Cojo sauce, to the entrees that included juicy burgers, fish and chips, and cauliflower steak with latkes, everyone found something they wanted to stuff themselves with! I couldn't have imagined a better venue and I'm extremely grateful for how talented Jocelyn was at organizing it all. The wait staff was always on the ball, friendly, and attentive. I was able to sit back and enjoy the food, cocktails, time with my family, and the lively but cozy atmosphere! I wouldn't have changed a thing!

The decor of The Cask and Rasher is old fashioned, authentic and wide-spaced. Their safe procedure of COVID-19 was well-planned, the staff wrote down the contact information of every customer and sanitized tables after dining. The staff was friendly. In order to keep social distance, customers need to order via scanning a QR code on each table to access the menu. There wasn’t a great variety of options but enough as a bar. We had their Brisket Nacho, Smoked Drum and a side of salad. We love the brisket, which was cooked tender and flavorful. However the drum was kind of dry and hard to chew. Overall, the ambiance was great and the food was decent. It’s a cozy and relaxing dining experience.

(May 18th Wedding - Owls Hoot Barn): I highly recommend the Cask & Rasher for wedding bar/beverage service! I was not expecting there to be so many flexible options as far as packages, and individualized drink options, and was thrilled that we really got be be creative with what we wanted. Jocelyn was easy to work with, and really allowed us to build a package that worked for us for our smaller wedding. We chose to add 2 signature cocktails (the possibilities are endless with what you'd like), as well as a "mocktail" for our non-drinkers. Having craft beers available of tap at a wedding was something our guests had never experienced, and LOVED. (We decided to choose all New York breweries, but they can essentially source almost anything you'd ever want)! The bartenders were incredibly friendly, professional, and flexible with everything that was needed. They truly went above and beyond, which was really appreciated and felt by all of our guests! In my opinion, financially it was a great deal for everything that was included (we did a per-person package). THANK YOU Cask & Rasher team for creating a fun and awesome atmosphere for...
