Defiance Hall by War Cannon Spirits — Restaurant in Town of Crown Point

Kinda on the fence, the end of the night kinda ruined it for me. I was there watching a band, and the band was upstairs. There was a bar upstairs. The food had to be ordered downstairs - the food was pretty good, but the menu is limited. There was a very nice Scottish man working there, Buzz, very helpful, very polite, and loved conversing with him! The other bartender was a little rough. When interacting with people, he was a little short and kinda rude. At the end of the night, I went to the upstairs bar. That's where I met Buzz earlier, but the other bartender was there instead. I was polite and wanted to pay my bill. I was using a gift card, and he was having a hard time getting it to go through, so he was a bit angry. So I started talking to the guy sitting next to me. I made one comment about something that was meant to be funny, and the bartender went off! So he was listening to our conversation, but instead of doing his job, he got angry with me and started hammering me with political things. And he wouldn't stop. After numerous times of me asking him to stop and I wasn't talking to him, nor did I want to continue his conversation. I had to get up and walk away with him still verbally bombarding me. Probably won't go back of he's there, but if there are people like Buzz...

This place could be awesome! However, the service is VERY slow and the food is not good at all! They need to hire twice as much staff.

First, we were told that there was no brisket and suggested that we order the Adirondack beef, which we thought sounded very good. After ordering, we were told that there was no kilted sausage (which we ordered)and then our waiter returned and said there was no Adirondack beef which we were suggested to order.

The pulled pork nachos were nasty, no pulled pork to speak of and looked as though they were sitting around in the kitchen for quite some time. The margarita flat bread was literally some bread with cheese melted and a couple cherry tomatoes, very tasteless.

The chicken wings are okay, not crispy but had a nice smoky taste, but needed more sauce.

Overall, it’s an amazing atmosphere, but the food and service is horrible! We won’t be back unless major...

I visited this past weekend with 7 other people. The building, space, atmosphere... all AMAZING! The drinks were outstanding! The appetizers were all exceptionally good! We were not thrilled with our main dishes, however. Our group of 8 is made up of some extremely competitive "smokers" and smoking meat is something we all get together to do as a hobby. Both the brisket and pork were a little fatty, with no smoke ring, and with no smoked flavor. We realize to smoke meat it takes time, which is not always feasible. We think WCS should add some gourmet burgers & hand cut fries to their menu, as that is the kind of vibe you get & want when you walk through the door.
