UPDATE - May 2025: Holy cannoli!! This place has done a complete 180 since our last visit five and a half years ago, and NOT in a good way. What in the heck happened to this place?!?!
The restaurant was FILTHY and had a dank smell. The floors were sticky, the bathrooms reeked, and there was dirt everywhere!
They seem to be understaffed, with only one person handling the counter. The salad bar that was there before is gone, and we weren’t even sure if they were still doing dine-in, even though they do have about a dozen tables. We asked the woman at the counter if they have dine-in, and she said yes. I asked if we should place our order at the counter, and she said no, that she would bring us some menus. We sat down, and the chairs and table felt sticky. She had to help several other customers who were getting carry out, so we had to wait a while for the “menus.” She brought us four pieces of computer paper with the menu printed on the front and back. Most of it was so smeared and faded that we couldn’t even read it, but luckily, we already knew what we wanted. The soft drinks we ordered were brought to us in bottles — no cups or ice. At least we were given real plates and silverware, which thankfully looked clean.
The biggest disappointment by far was the food. Although it had been fantastic five and a half years ago, now it is subpar — and I’m being kind. The breadsticks were too dark on top, too light on the bottom, and didn’t have enough seasoning. Half the pizza was good, but the other half was over-baked. The crust was way too dark, and the slices had a burnt taste.
Honestly, we were extremely disappointed in our whole experience, especially since we were expecting fantastic food like we had here five and a half years ago. I cleaned my teeth as soon as we left, and had to chew a bunch of mint gum to get the burnt taste out of my mouth. I also feel like I need to take a shower since the whole restaurant was so filthy and gross. Frankly, as I’m writing this review, I just feel nauseated. Needless to say, this time, we will NEVER be coming back.
October 2019: We stopped here for lunch on our way back to the Midwest after a family vacation out east. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean, the service was friendly, and the food was fresh and delicious. Fresh, crisp lettuce and toppings at the salad bar, hot and chewy breadsticks with just the right amount of crispy exterior, and hot fresh-tasting pizza. No canned-sauce taste or too much grease. Read moreI just had to leave a review.. Sunday Feb. 11th I tried placing an online order with East Syracuse Pizza Hut and I had several issues, my order would not go through for some reason. I tried at least 7 times over & over it kept saying, there was a problem with my order and it did not go through try again later! So I gave up! I fixed dinner and as I was eating a text came through and said, your Door Dash order will be there shortly!😯 I don't use Door Dash so, it was Pizza Hut. The guy was lost and called to see where I'm at! When the food came everything was opened meaning, the two Alfredos had no top or lid cover, all the boxes where open! My Cinnamon Sticks were in the same box with my cheese bread!🤔 I'm OCD with cleanliness or anyone touching my food or anything else so, I definitely did not trust that and was worried about it!! I called and complained that the order wasn't suppose to have gone through, I told her! And I complained about the fact that I don't use Door Dash cause, I be worried about my food. She explained they were really busy (Super Bowl Sunday) and had to get a few Door Dash drivers to help and that my order was one of the orders that they used Door Dash for. Then she said she'll let me talk to the manager! She got back on the phone and said all the manager could do is refund me, I told her I appreciate that and I thanked her! I said are you gonna send someone back to get the stuff she said, no they can't take food back she told me don't worry about it!! I felt so bad cause my food total was $74.47 and they had no hesitation or nothing!! Wow!! Kudos to that manager and the lady I talked to, I was refunded instantly without a battle or mistreatment!! Thank you guys for you understanding, you give excellent service in general. I really felt it was unfair that I got to keep the food though. I apologize deeply for that!! Read moreAlthough I wanted to, I couldn't bear to give it a one-star review. I can remember years ago this was a vibrant, thriving location. I used to go to this location for lunch, when I worked just down the road. There were Pizza Hut's all around us in this area and I believed they all closed down. Just the other day I realized this location still existed. I decided that since we were going to be in the area, we should go there for dinner. That will probably be the last time I go to any Pizza Hut. As an example of how bad the place has gotten, the woman in charge spent more time saying "I apologize" than pretty much anything else. In the short time I was there, if I were to make it a drinking game: take a shot or a gulp of alcohol every time she said the phrase, let's just say someone would be carrying me out of the building at the end of the hour! To be fair, when we did get our food, it was all as good as any other time I've been there. But the sit-down restaurant has become take-out only. There were tables and chairs for customers to use, but no wait staff. Just go to the counter, place your order, wait for "15-20 minutes" (really 25-40 minutes), get your food with paper plates and napkins, eat, clean up the table, pack your leftovers and go. They were so short-handed, there was nobody available to bring food out to the curbside pickup customers.
