I grew up in schuylerville, coming here as a treat whenever I'm in the area visiting family nowadays. However, it's kind of sad to say I will no longer be coming here. New management has taken over and has ruined everything that made it special, and im not being hyperbolic.

Usually, I order a baby sized vanilla custard in a cone which used to be less than $2, up until now. I understand the economy, and it would not have been a surprise to me to see the price inflate. However when I ordered today the staff person said that the sizes have been changed by the new owners and the baby size is now $2.99 and is TWO TABLESPOONS (not kidding they showed me the thimble sized cone). I ordered a kiddie instead ($4.22 for what used to be the baby).

The ice cream we received was definitely not a real custard. It's overly sweet and ridiculously airy to the point where you are getting even less ice cream for the exorbitant amount. Its not worth my money, it's not worth your money.

Can only hope they reverse their changes or people stop coming and they go out of business so someone else can buy it and restore it to what it was. (Also they cut down all the trees and plants around the sitting area so now it's just an open, barren wasteland instead of the cozy garden...

The Ice Cream Man has been my favorite ice cream in the area for decades. I grew up in Schuylerville and I remember going there since I was a kid on the 80's even riding my bike up the hill as a teenager. This weekend I took my family there and I was extremely disappointed. They are under new ownership, they had half of their supply, and they have shorted their menu of flavors. Granted they did have some of my favorites the Oreo types. I got myself an strawberry Oreo and it had more Oreo than ice cream, we also had the chocolate peanut butter Oreo and it had the same issue but the ice cream did have a decent flavor but still not like it use to. We also had a hard ice cream chocolate shake and I tasted like sweetened milk. All and all I was extremely disappointed especially since it was my favorite place to go and we would go every year multiple times. I'm sad to say this will be the last...

I'm afraid that the Ice Cream Man has fallen far short of what it used to be under the old management. I used to buy cakes from them and they were always great, nicely made and what I ordered. The other day I ordered a cake for the first time since the new management took over a few years ago, and it was very disheartening. The ice cream was not properly mixed, the cake was missing items I ordered and the presentation (gothic writing for a birthday cake for some reason, smudges and the sloppy division between the layers and on the sidea) all made it very unappealing and disappointing. It's upsetting when you spend a lot of money on a professional cake and it comes out looking like a third grader made it. The only thing about the cake that was good, was the actual flavor of the cake. But I definitely will not be...

The Ice Cream Man has the best homemade hard ice cream in the area! I usually opt for soft serve at other locations but this hard ice cream is just so good. They have a lot of different and unique flavors you won’t find anyplace else, like Almond Joy and Peanut Butter Oreo. Their sizes are also quite huge— a medium is four scoops— and the prices are good. In addition to ice cream in a cone or dish, you can get sundaes, shakes, a banana split, edible cookie dough, and “the Joe.” They also have pies! If you’re looking for a delicious frozen treat, definitely give the Ice Cream Man a try.

DO NOT GO HERE! Before today (8/18/25), I would have highly recommended them. However, after today's visit, I will not. We've been here a handful of times this summer and always ordered the same size cone (usually a baby or a kiddie). Today, when I ordered a baby, I got this! When I questioned the server about the size and mentioned that I'd been there previously and it was NOT this - I was told that the new owners were downsizing each cone size. No signage about this and prices the same. RIP OFF!!
