The Fort — Restaurant in Town of Eaton

On September 8, 2025 around 8:30 we had the worst experience. We go here pretty regularly and have always had amazing service. Today the server was very rude. It took about 40 minutes waiting on our food. It came out cold and when we tried to get the servers attention she immediately ignored us. Then after we ate everything and was sitting there for additional 30 minutes she finally came to give us the check and ran off where we couldn’t find her for about another 10 minutes. Then she came out walked past us twice. Then we decided enough was enough and we gave her no tip for being rude. Which while signing the receipt she was looking over our shoulders to see what we were giving her. Then when we were leaving to get into our cars she ran outside after us requesting we give her a reason why we didn’t give her a tip. I’ve walked by The Fort so many times and it always smells fantastic. Finally decided to give them a try tonight and we are definitely coming back in the future. The prices are right, the food is great, and the service was good too! My partner ordered a Tipsy Texan Burger with fries and I ordered a Swiss Mushroom Burger with bacon and a garden salad. The veggies were all fresh, the burgers were cooked to our preferences (which isn’t commonly done right bc we like rare), the fries are fantastic, and it was all so tasty! For the two of us it was only $35 + tip and we both felt full after just that! Plus there seems to be a good amount of parking available which is always nice. 100% coming back on a regular...

Why didn’t I know about this place sooner? Tried The Fort a few weeks ago on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Very good burger, sides and service.

Went back a couple of weeks later for Friday fish fry. Started at our regular place but there was a two hour wait. So we tried The Fort. It did not disappoint! We ended up having a lovely fried halibut and finished before we could get served at the other place.

Tonight we went for pizza. The large will ensure that I have breakfast and probably lunch tomorrow too. Ample toppings and thin crust wasn’t too salty like so...
