Chain O Lakes Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Town of Farmington

The big issue is their service(not all of them). I just called there to place an order for delivery. The woman who answered the phone was rude immediately and continued to be throughout the entire call. I was polite as I always am especially to people who work in restaurants/bars. I don't know who this lady is but I would definitely not have her taking calls and orders. There is no reason to treat any customer that way. The woman did state she just had surgery... that doesn't give you the right to talk to customers like that. If you cannot be kind to people because you had surgery maybe you should stay home until you're healed up and ready to return with an acceptable attitude. This is probably the same woman that always has an attitude. You order a drink and it's like you just asked her to do a triathlon. All the servers and other bartenders have always been kind and provide great service. I don't usually write reviews unless a place goes above and beyond but I had to this time. Hopefully it can change.

Thankfully I had her on speaker phone so my wife and family all got to hear the top...

Stopped in to grab dinner yesterday. Told to seat ourselves and sat outside on the deck. Ordered an appetizer of cheese curds to split. They were OK, but the plates that were brought out were still caked with food from whomever ate on it before; the dishwasher didn't do a good job cleaning them. It did take awhile for someone to come to our table even though it wasn't terribly busy.

The server was pleasant for the interactions that were had. We both ordered a burger and fries (typically a safe choice when the establishment seems questionable). The burgers are frozen patties, which is fine, but the cook was poor. Asked for medium to be safe, but the burger came out with a weird texture. I think the griddle was too hot so the outside was cooked but the middle was still rare and had a weird, unpleasant texture kind of like I was eating plastic.

My fiancée got sick last night and I got sick this morning. I'll spare you the details. Not sure how this place has high reviews, or if there's been recent turnover, but I would avoid this place like the plague. Spent $40 for below...

the summer officially ended and all the seasonal staff who've been taking such impeccable care of us all summer have returned to their regular lives. But nobody told the patrons of the Chain Bar, who continue to descend upon them unchecked. This has resulted in a seriously brutal Short Staff situation, and during our visit (at 6pm ON A WEDNESDAY!) the entire balcony was packed, the bar inside was full...and there were 2 servers working. The only 2 who remain in town year round, I'd wager.

And guess what.

Our service, though understandably a bit slower than ideal, was incredible. Friendly, knowledgeable, obviously exhausted, and impossibly pleasant. And the food?!? I could not believe how delicious everything we ate was. (Mixed color cheese curds, the best cheeseburger ever made, and a Ruben. This Ruben, sweet Jesus. I wish this Ruben was the very First Ruben Sandwich Ever Made, because then, all other Rubens would be begotten from Chain...
