I stopped by with a friend for lunch recently after she raved about her experience here. So glad she suggested it! I have passed by on my way to and from Vermont dozens of times, always thinking, "I should stop here sometime."

The environment and staff were welcoming. There is a very relaxing and laid-back atmosphere that encourages you to stay awhile. It reminds me of the old days with neighborhood restaurants where you could spend a few hours enjoying good food and catching up with other regulars.

The food we ordered was absolutely delicious! It was great to see meaty and well-sauced chicken wings. And the burger (Cannon Fodder) I have never had anything quite like it before. You wouldn't think reading the description that it would work, but boy does it! I want to try other items on the menu next time, but it will be tough not ordering the same burger again. The French fries were the real deal, homemade and yummy. I also ordered dessert. Very good, just needed a bit more time to defrost, as the slice of pie was still pretty solid.

Overall, highly recommend making it a point to stop when you are in the area or looking for an excuse to take...

Good food, service was the exact opposite. Been to thousands of restaurants but this could be one of those negative experiences. Our server was Corrine, friendly on the face but actions and tone did not match the behavior. Anything we requested was disregarded strongly stating they can’t make it that way. Which I totally understand because some menus are prefixed, but what bothers us is the tone and eye rolling after taking the order or after answering any questions. The fries we got with our burger were different from the one we got in the previous order so we casually asked, the reactions then were different from the verbal response and nodding the head (all along as she left the patio) was also disrespectful. If the restaurant is reading this please have a word with her and hopefully no other patrons have to experience this. Also given this disrespectful behavior we added a tip appropriate to our experience and we herd her yell and pointing towards us as we got...

We stopped by after a 4 year absence due to one thing or another. We were greeted by Ashley L and told we could sit anywhere. Ashley took our drink order giving us time to peruse the menu. Deb chose the Fort Anne Pub Club,a perennial favorite while I chose the Honey Slam Chicken Sandwich. We waited a bit and Ashley explained the chicken sandwich took a while to cook. I told her I should have had the pub club as I could get a chicken sandwich anywhere. She said not like this one. She was right. This thing was huge. The coating was not too heavy and it was adorned with some great condiments. The pub club was good but Deb agreed the Honey Slam took home the prize. Ashley was super attentive and took on time to chat,i.e. me boring her with a story about our first Battle Hill encounter. To me,a server can make or break a dining experience. Ashley took it over the top! A great...

I’m in the same boat as some other reviewers in that I’ve passed this place over and over again but never thought to stop. This trip, however, I wanted to grab some lunch and break up my drive, so I stopped in based on reviews. I’m glad I did! Both of the beers I had were well balanced, delicious, and featured local ingredients. I got a sandwich with fries and the portion was huge for the price. Bread made in house, cheese from local farms, etc etc. It’s clear that this place cares greatly about the products it puts out. Now I know why it has so many good reviews and why it has such a loyal following. I look forward to my next meal.
