The first few times we went here it was great! The last few times we have gone here it has been extremely disappointing. Went for Mother’s Day after making reservations, we arrived and they said they couldn’t find my reservation but would seat us anyway. After 30 minutes someone took our drink order (it was busy so we didn’t mind waiting) then after about an hour they took our food order. I ordered the Mother’s Day special and when it came out, it was missing half of the items. We went there for the piroshki as I have been wanting them for years and the duck spring rolls which were both in the special. My plate came out with only the other 2 things on the special, samosas and egg rolls. The plate was $46 and it was a bit insulting that they would serve just 3 cabbage egg rolls and 3 samosas and expect me not to notice. We told the waiter who went and told the chef and the waiter came back and said they were out of piroshki but would make extra duck rolls for us. I said this was fine. Then the waiter came back with a plate of more cabbage egg rolls and samosas and said they couldn’t do the duck either. I explained that the whole reason we came and I ordered the special was for the duck and the piroshki and that it was was not worth $46. They did take it off the bill which was nice, but I would have ordered something else if they would’ve told me they didn’t have half of the items in the special I ordered. Disappointing overall as this was my first Mother’s Day and I was excited for my meal that...

The Soto Sayur was an exellent soup to start things off. Light with an excellent usage of spices.
The Honey Zatar Duck Drumettes were extremely crispy and had a great zatar flavor with a hint of honey and flaked sea salt. They were moist inside and perfectly cooked.
Next up was Mousakka make with local produce. They eggplant was cooked perfectly and the tomatoes were nice and sweet. It made it refreshing in this warm weather.
Last but not least were the Kari Ayam Tacos with lime crema. A distinct middle eastern/Mediterranean spice flair highlights the tacos. The chicken was excellent with some pickeled onions and the cream to finish off the filling. All put inside a home made tortilla made this something I could have more and more of.
I finished the meal with an extra chocolatey bundt cake. This was sweet but not too heavy and really completed the dinner.
All in all this was well worth the trip to Franklin, NY. I can see why it is called one of the best restaurants in the Catskills. With a weekly rotating menu highlighting many parts of the world and various flavor profiles it really is a gem. I definitely recommend stopping in or making the trip to just go to dinner.
