I'm editing my original review (super long post) - as much as I have enjoyed Mesquite grill in the past I will not be returning. Tonight started off fine and then took a turn between the waiter not checking on us to my vegetarian fajitas to the manager telling me he didn't need my business. I have ordered the vegetarian fajitas in the past and they always come with peppers, onions, broccoli and cauliflower and I think mushrooms. Tonight's came with peppers and onions - mushrooms and 4 big hunks of slimy tomatoes. I ate parts of my dinner, the waiter never came to check on us or to refill our water or even offer us another wine/beer. I decided to go inside and get the bill because I was tired of waiting for a waiter that didn't want to check on us. I also wanted to tell them I was disappointed in the fajitas - the gentleman at the counter just stared at me with a blank face and then said the only thing he could do was get the manager. When the manager came out I told him what I had experienced in the past and as I was listing the ingredients to what was in my dish he finished my sentence. My 1st thought was that he was going to tell me that's how they make them now but instead he told me that they made 2 vegetarian fajita dishes and 1 had broccoli and cauliflower and one did not. I was astounded, my waiter walked by and I was able to snag my bill and I gave it to the gentleman to run as I continued to discuss this with the manager. In all fairness at this point I was upset that I was paying for a meal that was not prepared correctly - I asked the manager if he even cared that I was upset and he said yes, in which case I said I didn't think he was because I was paying full price. He proceeded to ask me if I ate my dinner - I said I did eat some of it and if I waited for the waiter to come back I'd still be sitting outside with very cold food. He told me I shouldn't have eaten it and I should of complained earlier - my original intent was just to say I was disappointed and I really didn't expect anything off my meal. I told him once again that I he didn't seem to care that a customer was upset and in which case he told me that he didn't need my business. I was not looking for a free meal but an offer of taking something off the bill since it was not prepared correctly - a sincere apology - anything to show that I was a valued customer. So all the good times I have had there are now marred by this one and I...
Read moreWe arrived just past lunch hour. The decorations here are beautiful, each table has seating or booths with Mexican inspired artwork. The walls are adorned with lovely themed artwork.
We ordered Queso Blanco and combo plates to get a good variety of the food offered here. The queso was very runny and soup-like, hard to get on a chip and quite salty - and I like salty foods.
Our plates arrived and first impression was promising, they looked good. I ordered combo 2 - One ground beef burrito, one shredded chicken poblano pepper and one ground beef enchilada. My food was warm at best when it arrived. The burrito and enchiladas were so similar in taste I had a hard time distinguishing between the two and I didn't care for the chicken filled poblano pepper, a little too crunchy for the pepper and not a lot of flavor for the chicken. My lunch partner was also not quite satisfied with his food, though he was super hungry so he did eat it all.
Service was ok. Greeted and seated by one person, another came to ask if our server had come yet (he hadn't), the server, then I think possibly the manager came by to ask if our server had come for our drink order (he had), our server, someone else again... It was a little chaotic.
I'm assured by several friends and family that normally the food is hot and fresh and delicious. I'm not certain we will be back in the future to...
Read moreFrankly the images provided were the point we could reach in the meal before calling it, as we had to get some of our moneys worth out of the meal. To start things off, when we called in for a takeout order we wanted combo 1, the enchiladas supremes, chips and queso, and churros. When we got back home there wasn’t any churros and in its place was a single taco shown in one of the pictures. We were frankly disappointed but decided to eat our food anyways and see how it tasted. Only disappointment followed, combo 1 which should be all beef had a chicken burrito, if you could call it a burrito as it was more like a quesadilla. Then we took a bite out of the taco provided and couldn’t finish it as to be honest Taco Bell makes better tacos. We stopped eating at this point as we determined that a Americanized Mexican fast food chain could make better food than this eatery. The atmosphere inside the store was fun, and maybe if we had eaten in person and not done takeout the results of the meal would’ve been different, but sadly first impressions matter and we don’t recommend takeout for...
