So the reason we vote 3* for this experience is related to service. The server was rude ... didn't make eye contact made us feel like we weren't worth the time of the day. We had a flight of beers, a glass of wine and a Shirley Temple. We purchased two crowlers....the second server was much more attentive but didn't save the experience for us The beer itself, the Blasket Red was great. It was comparable to Richards Red but bolder and more body. I liked it. The Oktoberfest Beer was a flavourful lager with a slight hint of citrus (not like an IPA ...just a tinge of citrus). The other two beers were not noteworthy...can't remember what they were and have no opinion about them. All in all, I would give the brewery a second chance based on the one server but the other guy was either miserable or having an off day.

The 'LIC' in Big aLICe's name is because the original brewery was in Long Island City, but has since moved here. Told the bartender that reminded me of Albuquerque's Ex Novo Brewery, which spent half its' life in Portland, Oregon, before closing shop and moving operations to New Mexico. Maybe these two heavy-hitting movers & shakers will someday do a collab. Who knows. Meanwhile, it is extremely important to note that their Copper Rye lager is so fantastic. You don't find a lot of breweries making rye lagers, and Big aLICe does a brilliant job.

Delicious high quality beer, with strong range in different styles, from lagers, to IPAs, and kettle sours. We arrived about 30 minutes before closing on Sunday night and received a warm welcome from the server, who took the time to explain the differences in the sours and IPAs on offer. He also helped out when there was an unfortunate accident with our flight. The taproom, both in and out, was bright and atmospheric, despite us being the only people there. Top quality all around, definitely worth a visit.

Big aLICe has become a new favourite for my girlfriends and I! Each year we travel to FLX (excluding the years Covid stole...) from North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Canada (yep I'm the Canadian, hence the spelling of "favourite").

This years visit in October 2022 was our first time visiting this vibrant brewery. It was evening when we visited, the patio lights were on, the fires were crackling and patrons were playing a game of corn hole on the lawn. The atmosphere was electric!

Traveling with Fido? Dogs are allowed on the deck!

Before we visited, I had emailed the owner to inquire about their menu and live music and he was quick to respond.

Before ordering our drinks the bartender graciously allowed us to try the product before we purchased.

We would 100% recommend this hot spot, and will visit again next...

Do not go here. We were trying to enjoy a flight of beer, when out of nowhere the bartender started an unprovoked political rant. When we told him we did not agree with his beliefs he became enraged shouting at us so loudly we could not even have a discussion. He then brought religion into it. I was surprised that an employee representing this place would be so over the top and obnoxious. This is totally unacceptable, but he told me it didn’t matter because the owners agree with him. Unless you want to be belittled about your political or religious beliefs, I would suggest you find somewhere else to go, there are plenty of other options with a more welcoming environment. Political views are best kept out of a business as not every customer...
