Do NOT go on a Friday night unless you get there at 4pm for dinner. Was refereed to this restaurant by my boss and mother in law whom went to high school with the owner. First time there was OK (April 15th). At 6:30pm sat down and was told we cannot put in a dinner order yet, That was fine as we wanted to have a few drinks and appetizers before ordering. Then when it came time to order, were given a list of items that they were out of. Still not a huge deal but a disappointment. On June 3rd arrived and checked in at 6:35, was told about 30-45mins wait... Perfect! as we wanted to have a few drinks outside prior to dinner. At 7:45 my husband went to see how much longer and was told about 30-45mins and noticed that the same people checked in had still not been crossed off yet, which meant we were waiting longer than that. After i noticed several and i mean several tables, counted at least 20 tables empty included 2 patio tables that had been empty for 45 mins, I decided it was time to go. Went up to the front to have them remove our name from the list. Which was done so quickly i dont even think i finished my sentence! I thought maybe i would have received an apology or an explanation at which point i would have stayed provided it was valid. Upon inquiring the empty tables i was told the chef had ordered "Cant sit anymore until he is caught up". Advise -1.) If that is the case, inform patrons of that. People are very understanding as long as they are in the "know" 2.) sit people but let them know they cannot place a dinner order yet, this way they can order their drinks through the waiter/waitress and have a sense of "progress". (compared to sitting on 390 at 5pm) as long as your moving your happy, sitting still for an hour....not so much. Great potential for a summer hot spot as there are not too many places in Rochester that sit...

The outside of the building a quaint house style with trim, loved the entry posts wrapped with rope as if a dock side tiling. Fresh and clean deck, and entryway. Inside, the walls with tin on the lower half and paint above. The color scheme was fantastic. Ample tables and metal chairs with pads. Liked the bar area, dining room(s) separated by archways and one room lowered. A smaller room with a separate smaller bar as you head out to an enclosed porch. Then, a great outdoor deck for dining with another bar, ample tables and seating, even picnic tables on the waters edge. The main inside bar is beautiful, a large selection of draft beer. Love the simple rack for single wines, a little plant rooting in a bottle, name brand carpet runner! Let's not forget to review the bathrooms. They are spacious and very clean. LOVED the soap and towel drying! The food! One of us enjoyed two appetizers as a meal! The Braddock Bay Shrimp are cooked just right with an AMAZING homemade cream with a slightly spicy hint, possibly something like mayonnaise, bbq, and a touch of hot. Melt in your mouth delicious! Our other meal was a Cobb Salad with grilled chicken. The chicken sported great grill marks, sliced, and super tender. Very delicious! Bacon, crumbled blue cheese, tomatoes, and hard boiled egg. Perfect portions, great price! Our bartender/waitress, Melanie was an absolute charm; efficient, sweet, quick and professional, fun. We sat inside for the AC but look forward to returning for the outdoor experience. We will bring friends next...
Read moreSo I decided to try out Braddock Bay Traven and Grill. I sat at the bar and waited to see how fast their service is. I waited about 9 mins then finally got asked what I wanted to drink. It wasn't that busy and she passed me twice. Ordered a long Island and they didn't have triple sec. Whatever she still made the drink and still tasted like a island but it wasn't as strong as it normally is. I ordered my food which was a ribeye steak medium rare. While waiting for my food I finished my drink and it took another 11 mins to get my second drink. This time the second drink was perfect even tho it didn't have the triple sec. I got my ribeye steak and it was more rare then medium. The steak was still purple no red at all. So I told her and she brought it back and it came back medium rare the second time but the top and bottom was charred with a burnt taste. Had no flavor anymore. While eating the bartender asked me to move to the end of bar so a couple could sit together even tho there was other spots available at the bar and all thier tables were all open. Whatever at this point and I decided to play some music and was going great. I played some soggy bottom boys, then decided to play Wiz Khalifa "King of everything" and they came around asking who played this song and that it's trash and decided to turn the jukebox offline. I don't mind if they don't want to listen to it but to talk trash about it saying it's trash is a little rude. I give this bar a 2 out of 15. 2 out of 5 for drinks, 0 out of 5 for customer service, and 0 for food. I would recommend going elsewhere for better...
