Ate here for the first time with my family. This is a very warm and friendly establishment as the proprietors greet their customers and made them feel welcome. It also has a regular customer base, as there were a good amount of dinners many seemed to be regulars. Offering both in door and out door dining, all covid protocols were observed by the entire staff.
Started off the meal with appetizers. The Vongole Oreganate(Baked Clams) were excellent. 8 to a plate they were well seasoned and had a great sauce that added to the flavor. This was coupled with Bruschetta al Pomodoro, which is grilled Italian bread and chopped tomato salad. The bread slices, about 6 disc toasted, lacked enough garlic to give it a garlic bread type taste. Unlike traditional buschetta the bread was larger, but turned out well because the chopped tomato was excellent and tasty. I used the sauce from the baked clams to give the pairing an extra taste touch.
Sadly, not all of the entrees fared well. I enjoyed the Gamberoni Parmigiano which was breaded shrimp in tomato sauce with spaghetti as the pasta side. The sauce was tasteful but could have had some more seasoning if it supposed to be a home made sauce. The next entree was a steak with gargonzola cheese sauce, which was paired with penne Alfredo as the pasta side. The steak was supposed to medium but it was over cooked and it lacked any of the juice the would be created in the pan to give it more flavor. The cheese sauce was was amply applied to the plate which made it more like a gravy rather than a sauce addition. I would recommend that they should put this as a side and allow the diner to apply the amount they would like on their plate. The last dish was Spaghetti Con Polpettine, or spaghetti and meatballs. This was the most disappointing of all of the dishes. Which should never be in any Italian restaurant. The meat balls tasted bland and lacked basic seasoning. There were no breadcrumbs in the mix and they tasted like they were a no name brand from the supermarket. Seriously Ikea's Swedish meatballs edged this out need I say more. The owners mother did say that her son, the cook made them, but they need mom back in the kitchen to add the old world flavors and touch to their cooking. Overall, this is a good place to eat. Parking was easy as they have additional parking across the street. I would suggest their son the cook, take more tips from his elders on how to finesse his food flavorings in making their meals. The menu choices are good, but could use a few more additions especially with their appetizers. I would have liked to see some garlic bread as an option. Over all it is still a good dining choice...
Read moreElisa’s restaurant is a hidden gem in the neighborhood of North Bellmore. Slightly hidden on North Jerusalem Road and next to a little auto repair shop called “Road Reedy”, with accessible parking for their patrons, and a huge parking lot right across from Elisa’s. From the moment we walked up, we were greeted by so many faces, it was as if we were a part of the family. The tents atmosphere was beautiful! The palm trees, the lights and the little table plants compliment the “al fresco” dining experience in a wonderful way! The tables are even separated far enough for any individual that is uncomfortable dining out! From the looks of it, Elisa’s seems to hit the nail right on the head when it comes to the quality of their food, the service, the dining experience and atmosphere/ambiance. They follow all protocols, rules and procedures for the safety of their customers, as well as giving above and beyond to make sure that everyone dining at the restaurant is enjoying the experience. The appetizers were fantastic that we tried, the fried calamari, baked clams, grilled portobello, whole roasted cauliflower and the beautifully done special Kale salad. The pastas were perfectly cooked with an absolutely delicious flavor! From the Alfredo cream sauce we tried, to the bolognese, we enjoyed every bit of those dishes! The entrees came and I couldn’t resist to taste test some of my families dishes… The Pork Chop San Mariano is outrageous, huge and delicious! The Penne Villa we tried was perfect, the sauce was a creamy silky smooth texture and the scallops and shrimp were cooked perfectly. I could go on and on about the other dishes, but its unnecessary unless you take that leap of faith and try it for yourself! I’m sure you will be pleasantly surprised by the wonderful staff, food, culture, family oriented atmosphere, and the restaurant as a whole! I will surely be back as much as I can, and I definitely passed the word on that Elisa’s is a wonderful family ran Italian restaurant which deserves all the hype that it gets! Thank you so much for the unbelievable dining experience and to the fantastic staff that made things so simple and easy, we will surely be back so we can try everything on the menu and all the specials you have to...
Read moreTonight was our first time having dinner at Elisa's Restaurant. I've only heard great things about the food and service so I made reservations online for 6pm this evening. We were seated immediately when we arrived. We were offered water as soon as we sat down and a bread basket with two different kinds of butter was placed on the table. They have what they call "Lava Oil" on the table as well. I tried it and it was excellent. Very spicy but I love spice! Monday is there shrimp special night and there are 15 different dinners to choose from. The dinners include a Soup or Salad plus pasta of you're choice or vegetables. You can also order from the regular menu as well. My son wanted to try the Blueberry meatball appetizer and we like to try fried calamari wherever we go so we ordered both. The Blueberry meatballs sounded crazy but I have to admit, they were delicious. The fried calamari were some of the best I've had in quite some time. We ordered the fried shrimp with spaghetti & marinara sauce, tossed salad with vinagrette, shrimp francese with spaghetti, Penne alla vodka with fried chicken cutlet and chicken francese with potato croquets. Everyone loved their dinners. We took home 3 containers of food because we couldn't finish them. The service was excellent. Our waiter Rob was very attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. I wish I got the names of the food runners because they were excellent as well. The entire staff from beginning to end were very professional. All of our dishes were removed from the table as soon as they were empty and water was automatically refilled when needed. This was our first time here but definitely not our last. I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the appetizers because everyone inhaled them too quickly. They have specials every night of the week and we look forward to...
