Yard Flavors — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

If I could rate higher, I would!!! I’ve tried different Jamaican restaurants in NYC, even the most popular ones everyone goes to to, but Yard Flavors on Hempstead Turnpikes remains one of the best jamaican taste I ever had in the area. The food is excellent! Prices increased due to the cost of living but reasonable compare to other places since YARD FLAVORS’ food and service are actually WORTH every penny (still cheaper than these other famous jamaican restaurants)…. and if you think these other places served good food, wait till you try Yard Flavors’. I’ve only tried their curry goat, jerk chicken, brown stew chicken and their oxtail. I didn’t care for their brown stew chicken, but everything else is okay. Personally I prefer Yardies on Elmont Rd., however I only go to Yard Flavors because it’s a few minutes walking distance from my job. Store is small, yet always clean. Workers are not so pleasant. I don’t think I’ve ever had a good customer service experience there. There’s no, “Hi, how are you?” Instead they say “who’s next?” and take your order. First let me say I don’t do reviews! But today I had to!!! I ordered lunch carrot cake and cow foot with steam veggies and rice and peas this was my first time ordering from here everything was disgusting $29.97 with delivery fee I just threw it all in the garbage. They didn’t even put a fork or napkins in the bag. The icing was melted completely off the carrot cake which was so nasty and the cow feet taste like it was two days old so disgusting as a Jamaican I never ate such a disgusting dish in my life !!!
