We came to Fireside twice yesterday because we were going to the dome arena for the Van Gogh exhibit. First we stopped for a drink at opening and came back after for lunch. The hours advertised opening at noon. We were waiting outside until about 12:10 and they unlocked the door. We sat at the bar and watched as staff got the place ready which meant we were not served until about 12:25. Not a huge deal but we had a 1:00 ticket time at the dome. We came back for lunch around 2:30 and the bar room was full so we went to the dining room to sit and order. A very nice young man approached us to take our drink orders, he did not know the drink menu. Drinks, mostly draft and bottle came out 1 at a time. I started to worry.
We ordered food and what we received was pretty good but it took an hour for our food to come out and again things came out 1 or 2 at a time. We ordered soup that never came. We ordered house made "dip" for the Chicago beef that did not come. I ordered fries in place of chips and that did not happen either. We would have asked for the dip and fries but after waiting so long we just wanted to eat and get home. We live an hour away.
I was in the restaurant business for 25 years, I know the state of the business after the pandemic.
The check came and the items mentioned above were in fact on the check so we had to have those removed. I knew the waiter was new but as we were driving home we talked about how this young man was not properly trained. He did not know what 1911 was. He did not know what Molson Canadian was...he did not know the food menu and the difference between French onion soup and house made French onion dip.
Tables that came in after us were served and gone while we were eating.
Positives: the bloody mary was good. The bartender was friendly and the restaurant was spotless. The bathrooms were clean.
This spot seems popular with locals, I just wish we had...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here the other day for a little get-together. We went in the afternoon on a saturday and it was pretty empty. Im sure it gets busier during dinner time. It was a small but nice place once you walk in. The service was quite good and attentive but not overbearing.
There nachos were a good size and a decent price. They had a good amount of toppings on it to satisfy just about anyone looking to get a good fill. The flavors were good and satisfying.
I ordered the 3 pigs and the big bad wolf sandwich. It was Pulled pork, bacon and ham on a toasted garlic butter roll. I asked for a side of potato chips. The meat was pretty plentiful but not so much that it was just falling out of the sandwich with every bit. The buttery goodness gave it a little extra savory taste in your mouth. The chips were also pretty good and well seasoned. My little gripe was that I could tell the oil was getting used a lot by how brown the chips were. But overall, my food was very good and I enjoyed it. I felt the service was very good here and the food and drinks were enjoyed by everyone that was there with me.
Its a little place away from the chaos of Jefferson road in Henrietta but definitely a place to check out and enjoy. Its good to stray off the beaten path to try something new once...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI didn't dine in, as I was working for a residential house. All but one ordered take out. Parking is good but nearly filled up on a Friday night, but I suppose one could park on the adjacent street. The service was great, prompt and courteous. Place looked visually pleasant and dining room lit well. The food was great!!! Absolutely the Black and Bleu burger was pink in the middle!!! The pizza with steak and Bleu cheese and had a balsamic glaze! Who else has that? Um, no one. If someone else does that let me know. Prices were very fair. But, I noticed a one dollar fee for take out. What? Never heard of that, it sent me scurrying for extra change!! Not cool. š When people know from the menu the prices; they expect to know the final bill. Probably not coming for take out at this place, I might come for dinner. The parking into building is somewhat accessible, by that I mean there is not a button, you can easily get through the door easily as entry is all flat. I forgot to mention, with the selections you may make a menu item minus meat. Ask if an ingredient can be removed due to allergies, They might be...
