If you're looking for a clean restaurant with friendly service and good food, well, keep looking. We walked in, and immediately went back outside to leave our coats, since the place smelled overwhelmingly like burned food. The next thing thing we noticed was the ENTIRE front counter was overwhelmed with dirty dishes, that nobody dealt with in the entire 40 mins we were there, despite having 4 employees on the floor. We found the one and only cleared/clean table and sat ourselves. We waited about 10 mins before our waitress came over, and another 5 for our coffee. We ordered the eggs Benedict and a corned beef hash omelette. The food arrived swiftly, 10 mins (we timed it), no complaints there, other than we typically do not expect lunch meat ham on eggs Benedict, but it was edible. However , the waitress did not say one word to us as she plopped our plates down (typically, we would expect the server to ask if we needed anything else, perhaps a top-off of our coffee, which we never got since she never came back). A group sat down behind us, in a filthy booth, and waited even longer than us for the waitress to come over, again, not clearing any of the tables as she walked by at least half a dozen times. In total, since we were timing, the tables surrounding us stayed heaped with dirty plates for over 23 minutes after we ordered. I could completely understand if the place was packed however, there were only 3 tables with people. If the owner ever reads this please be aware you need to get staff that is trained, or train them. This isn't being picky, please do better. We don't write many reviews but after leaving in disgust we "smelled" so bad we felt this...
Read moreIt's a quiet out of the way place as I donot like overly crowded restaurants and people elbow to elbow or able to breathe on me from behind. I want to eat in a relaxed atmosphere and hear ourselves talk without nosie's. And yes, it is quiet. I don't need fluff and chandeliers and the cost that accompanies. That said tho, last time I was there, which was my first time and some months ago, it was the best roast beef sandwich and fries I'd had yet. It was thinly sliced, moist, with ajus/lite gravy, and on a roll without all that unnecessary salt and seeds. It was truly delectable. This time was soooooo horrible I won't go ever again. It was NOT fresh that day, as I was lied to. It was dry, no ajus, full of stringy end fat and was cut unlike it should be. I asked for it to be shaved so my Dad could eat it without issue with his dentures. NOT. I couldn't even chew thru that mess. So I asked for a sandwich he COULD eat. Not much better as no taste to the tuna. Dad ate half the tuna and we left. And I'd given a tip however not worthy of the awful meal. We came from North Tonawanda as well, so what a waste of time, travel, money, & most of all the meal. I'd be embarrassed to serve anything so...
Read moreFood was really good diner food...
Service was brutal. No wait outside but we sat for an hour before we got any food. They kept running out of silverware and people that sat well after us ate before us. I could see if there was a line out the door but it seemed like a normal load and there seemed like sufficient staff.
Had to ask for coffee refills.
No toilet paper in the restroom when we got there. Brought it to their attention. No toilet paper when we left still.
Also - a comment on using the tablet system. It's not efficient. The servers can't carry coffee, silverware etc to a table and then take an order because their hands are full. They have to put the stuff down and then go back and get the tablet. Every time. These servers and cooks are slammed right now and they need more help... And the restaurant isn't even full.
We Will come back for food. Need to work on service. We went out of our way to come here based on reviews but it added an hour and a half delay...
