Valley Bread and Bounty — Restaurant in Town of Hume

The food was wonderful. The selection amazing. The atmosphere cozy. It was steady to even busy for a Monday afternoon. Only one lady was working the counter, I'm not sure how many in the kitchen, service was quite slow, but we didn't mind the wait as we visited and looked around the gift shop. The two noticeable minor draw backs were the tables weren't very clean, they were cleared but not washed (again it was quite busy) and we were interested in the local coffee for sale but items were not marked and only beans were available, we had wanted to ask if they grind the beans upon purchase and about the prices but unfortunately it was too busy for anyone to offer assistance understandably. Welcoming, comfortable, and unpretentious atmosphere; friendly, accommodating service, and reasonable prices for excellent products! Sounds like a paid promotion, I know..... but seriously, when we walked in, it felt like home. There is no espresso, yet, but the best brewed coffee we've found in the area. The breads and baked goods are beautiful, tasty, carefully prepared and presented. Local artisans' products are thoughtfully displayed and fairly priced. There is a gluten free section in each day's display of baked goods, for those who need that option. Very cute little coffee shop. Only been here once. I travel to the area to visit my family. Got the caramel apple butter latte and egg sandwiches. My husband doesn’t do a lot of pastries so was looking for an egg sandwich option! Though on Google couldn’t find specifically that they have sandwiches. I zoomed in on someone’s picture and saw a menu lol Coffee was great, sandwiches were very good. I think the prices are fair for what you get but we are also a military family.
