Absolutely horrible service!!! I was happy to support a latin food place near me but now i'll spend my dollars at Punta Cana in huntington village. Food is great there and the people are far more friendlier. As for El Sueno (The Dream) more like La Pesadilla (The Nightmare) I placed an order for pickup and the woman answering the phone Janet or Jennette took the wrong order. I mentioned that I wanted the short rib taco special that comes with 3 tacos for $9.95 along with other meals spending $40 (I've order numerous times prior). I had her repeat the order to ensure it was accurate which it was and stated the specials and amounts. When I recieved my order I noticed that my order was not complete at all and missing 2 of the 3 tacos for the short rib. When I called to question my order this woman rudely tells me that she only put down 1 taco $3.50 and if i wanted the other 2 it would be $8.00 more. Which does not match the menu at all. I proceed to tell her that it's not my fault she made the error in taking my order and that I would like my full order of the 3 tacos for $9.95. Basically saying I have one taco and I'd like the remaining 2 and will be willing to pay the balance which is $6.45. She continues telling me that i need to pay individually for each taco dinner it's no longer a special order. Of course the manager is not there except this woman who makes it seem that i'm inconveniencing her with my incorrect order. The food is good but the customer service lacks work. What's the point in ordering a meal if you can't eat what you ordered. Supposedly the menu has been updated but no menu is placed in the bags to alert customers of changes. Mind you I order last week and didn't have any issue. Management should get rid of this woman and do a better job on their customer service skills. I will not be giving this place my money at all and I suggest others be wary as well. I even went there to show the menu and this woman says I can call tomorrow (Tuesday july 8th) to talk to...
Read moreMy friends and I stopped here for a late dinner. We were greeted promptly and seated in less than 5 minutes. The tequila bar was highly impressive and set the tone of my expectations. They had a whole wall of a vast variety of tequilas and not the celebrity/American owned brands. I thought this place was going to be authentic. We tried the waiter’s recommendation and it was extremely good. The staff were very friendly and attentive even though you can tell they were prepping to close in a few hours. We ordered the guacamole and it was delicious. The tortillas were well made and we were excited to order. We got a pitcher of the sangria and it was extremely sour and not the normal sangria. Since everyone was nice we just wanted to write it off and try to finish it. I couldn’t and thankfully they had a very nice tampernillo to wash it down. We ordered chicken and shrimp tacos, burrito grande, the street tacos, and the carne asada. I quickly notice the food was not as authentic as I would’ve expected. Parboiled rice? As an Hispanic, that’s not acceptable when you’re dining out. The beans didn’t look fresh and when I started to eat my food, I could tell I was going to get sick (which I did that night). My steak tasted inedible and I felt I got leftover food for the night. None of us took our leftovers with us which the waiter notice but didn’t ask us if everything was alright. This location is great with parking and the staff is what carried this place. Unfortunately, I would not personally come back or recommend this place unless you just want to drink tequila and have some guacamole or bar like food. The word El Sueno literally means to sleep/dream. They definitely missed the mark on the ‘Dream’ they pitched on their bio. To the owner Joe Salas, I hope you start to meet your promise on authentic food for this Huntington...

Located in South Huntington where there are a few other dining options but not many. The first time I went I was pleasantly surprised. Every other visit has been just as pleasant if not better. The place is decorated in an understated manner with well spaced tables. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The menu has enough variety that anyone should be able to find something delicious to eat. Guacamole prepared at the table is delicious. The home made sangria is fantastic. Of course they have margaritas which were also very good. Everyone I was with enjoyed their meal. I loved mine. They are not over or under seasoned and were cooked perfectly. They even have a vegan section on their menu. If you crave excellent, savory Mexican food in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere with more than fair pricing then El Sueno is the...
