Shelly's Deli (Poughkeepsie) — Restaurant in Town of Hyde Park

Order a sausage egg and cheese through DoorDash and went to take a bite and got what looks like a wood chip or something in my sandwich. Called and was told the boss would call me back when they weren’t busy and I never got a call back. Never had a problem before but this was different. Not gunna recommend after this experience. Owner seems like a scumbag based on these other reviews I’m reading now. I didn’t demand a callback that’s what the employee suggested and she didn’t apologize or anything. The piece of wood was in the sandwich and other reviews have said things like plastic have been in their sandwiches. I reached out to DoorDash as well and instead of trying to belittle like you did, they apologized. You’re a sad little man but it’s all good I also submitted to the department of health along with your response. It could’ve been a piece of a cutting board or something you absolute moron . I was just calling to give y’all a heads up about it being in the sandwich but instead you had to be a pos. SMH. It’s all good karma will...

Expensive. Poor quality. Uncomfortable atmosphere.

This is disappointing to write because we used to eat from here pretty often. Probably won’t anymore.

I tried to place an online order at 2:10 (they close at 3) and online ordering was turned off. Okay, so we’ll go in.

We place our orders and the girl at the register says to my fiancée “I think I’m forgetting something you said” my fiancée says “the bacon” and the girl apologizes. No problem. Then we get home and there’s still no bacon on the sandwich…

I got the ‘grandpa’ sandwich and this is what it looked like inside.

We paid FORTY dollars for the two sandwiches (one was GF for a $4 up charge), 2 bags of chips and two iced teas. We usually order online for pickup because when you walk in the staff ALWAYS looks at you like they want you to leave.

It’s a shame because I feel like it used to be so much better. Hope they can...

Shelly's Deli continues to be my go to deli for the best lunch sandwiches in town. Don't let all these other reviews fool you: The food is delicious and EVERYTHING is significantly fresher and more premium tasting than any other deli in the area. I almost wouldn't even call them a deli; They are the best sandwich shop in town! (yes they do serve your traditional deli foods too!) Oh and they do catering too!!! We had an event recently catered by them and everyone RAVED about how good the food was!

Every time I have gone in the owners and staff are kind and courteous and ALWAYS go above and beyond. I was even in a few weeks ago and a sandwich was made on the wrong type of bread and they remade the entire sandwich for free for the customer!
