Limited dining options in winter lead us to Indian Lake Restaurant after a day spent at Oak Mountain. I was glad we came in. The waitress who greeted us was lovely and made sure our 4 year old was settled with some wiki Stix to play with while we chose our meals. She didn't end up being our waitress, got the feeling she might have been the owner? But she was lovely and kept checking in as she walked by. Our daughter has a habit of wanting multiple meals off the kids menu and was asking for spaghetti with chicken. They were able to add a fried chicken cutlet for $4 instead of charging us for a second meal. She loved it! I had braised beef ravioli stroganoff which was good. My husband had the buffalo chicken alfredo (the Alfredo itself had hot sauce in it) it was also delicious. We shared the duck wings with blueberry BBQ sauce and that was yummy as well. Thank...
Read moreI was impressed that a place in the Adirondack had a menu with safe foods for different food allergies as well as Vegan/Vegetarians.

We stopped in for a late lunch on our way back to our place. It wasn't busy so we got sat right away and looked over their menu. It is a big menu. Lots of different options for anyone. I was elated to see they had dairy free and gluten free items marked! I was also pleasantly surprised by the fact they had a gluten free bun! I ordered a regular burger with fruit. My husband had a burger as well. My kids have nuggets. My burger was pretty bland so that was disappointing. Overall it was a nice experience and we got...
Read moreWe had a great time at Indian Lake Restaurant. In fact, we went there 2 times in one day. The 1st time, my buddy and I went to the bar for drinks. Valerie (a sweetheart) made a perfect gin martini. Then, we played pool on a bar table and joked with Valerie and the staff who were super friendly.
We all went back for dinner that night. The menu had some interesting and unique items. The chef KNOWS how to BBQ. Chicken legs were meaty and perfectly smoked. Ribs were cooked to competition perfection and sauced expertly. For appetizers, try the duck wings and the Brussels sprouts.
This is comfort food brought to a higher level of creativity and expertise not expected in a rural...
