Horrible!! Owner Kathy was just so OBNOXIOUS! The way she handled this was appalling. I had my sons baptism party scheduled for yesterday at 4Pm. I had confirmed and reconfirmed several times about tables that were going to be set under the tent. I even confirmed the night before, needless to say I got to the party and they had the patio furniture out, not the dinner tables they had promised. I complained immediately to manager Josh and I got no real answer as to why. At that point my guests where already there and they couldnt change ten tables! I was very upset. The dessert table was not set as promised.. cookies and cupcake stand was not even put together. I had one on my friends rush to put it together and put cupcakes on and set it. Again,Upsetting! Appetizers were supposed to come out. They were samples, not appetizers. Barely existant. UPSETTING!! The bar was supposed to be just for my party. Thats what they had said when i booked. well, there were at least 40-50 people around the bar at the entire time of our party. Gawking, ordering drinks probably on our dime, and even coming into out party taking cupcakes and dancing on our floor!! needless to say IRRITATING! The table numbers were set wrong. People where confused!! And the kicker : at the end of the party, we were given a $2400 bar bill. I didnt know weather to scream or laugh.. 51 adults of which 5 dont drink alcohol the two managers made an attempt to help figure out what was going on, as it was an inaccurate, overinflated, PADDED bill. Between them telling me that we drank all that (which we DID NOT) they offered to take 500 dollars off the already padded bill as if that should be enough. I was so tired, irritated and upset at that point that I asked for them to have the owner call me and left. This morning, after I texted the manager that it was extremely dissapointing, I got a HOSTILE call from the owner Kathy Remo. Her first sentence was "Hi this is Kathy Remo, owner at Snapper Inn and Im insulted that you didnt tip my managers". This woman, who called herself the owner, proceeded to yell and talk over me, berate me and question me. I explained entire night and she didnt want to hear anything. She only wanted to hear herself yell. I asked her why the tables where not the right ones, why there were no appetizers? why would I tip the managers who were trying to rip us off? and why the bar bill was padded?? she said that the bar staff where her niece and nephew and that the managers did their best. I told her that the food was good and so was the location and so were the waiters, she on the other hand was very unprofessional, unapologetic and unreasonable in handling this. I told her I would post a review and warn people and she said she didnt care, that the customers would still come. I asked her several times how she would feel if she walked into her party and had all this hapen to her... she offered no answer of course, she kept twisting and deflecting. I told her that they ripped us off at the bar, and asked her why there were 40 strangers/other people at the same bar as our party and how could her niece and nephew know who to charge and who was with my party and who was not!.. Her answer was that "they knew'.. Sadly didnt offer a solution and was rude entire conversation. I informed her that I would contact the Better Business Bureau. She then screamed and yelled and hung up on me. Thank God it was a small party of intimate family members and we could have a nice time in a walk-in closet. I would never go there again! PLEASE BEWARE of the lies and promises! Watch...
Read moreI'm not a fan of writing poor reviews but I really can't say I recommend this place.
Let's start with the good: the atmosphere is amazing the place feels upscale and cozy at the same time with incredible views on the water. The lighting is pleasant too. Our waitress was a rockstar. MacKenzie was the only reason we stayed honestly, she handled a bad situation not only well but professionally. And our food was incredibly good. The Long Island seafood platter had super tasty sweet shrimp, my lobster roll was stuffed full, and the cocktails were well made for us.
So what was so bad then you might be asking dear review reader. Everything. We waited over 1 hour for 6 oysters as an appetizer. The oysters were some of the smallest we've had in LI. We waited so long we had to ask for another bread basket and cancel adding to our appetizer order for fear of not getting anything in a timely manner. It took 1h40min for our main dishes and we ordered them the same time as the oysters... And the only hot dish Wasn't hot. It has been sitting for who knows how long but it was barely warm to the touch. We had to send it back for reheating.. not a pleasant thing to do when you waited so long to eat at all and with seafood no less. Management at No point in time made any rounds to our tables. Not anyone's in the place. They left everything up to these college kids that are trying their best. This is the part I was the most disappointed in by far. I can't overlook management avoiding issues and getting paid so much more than these wait staff actually taking any amount of responsibility. Other tables had as many issues as we did. The entire dining room was in a similar boat of incorrect orders, late food items, etc. We ended up not getting any dessert despite having gone for our anniversary there. We just didn't want to wait for the restaurant to grow the wheat to grind into flour for a cake. On top of that this isn't just an odd night. Reviews recently are showing the same issues over and over again.. I could have been far more relaxed knowing this was some call outs in the back, but paired with management being non-existent I am positive these staff members arent being paid well for the volume theyre handling and so they cannot keep good help. With the amount of money they're making they should pay their staff better.
If you have 2-3 hours to spare and aren't shy about asking for what you need this might be a fine place but we're never going...
Read moreWe had our daughters Bridal Shower at the Snapper Inn on April 10,2022.
If we could give them a 100 star rating we certainly would.
We worked with Patricia and Josh who assisted us with choosing the right room for our needs, the food and the decorations. Patricia and Josh were our MaĂŽtre De's for the bridal shower. They were absolutely amazing! We were advised to bring in decorations the day prior and they would set what we had . Any additional decorations we agreed would be brought in for set up the day of the Bridal Shower an hour prior to the function.
The Day of... We arrive early to the restaurant and everything we brought the day prior is set up better than expected. The linens matched the color theme of the shower as promised. The restaurant is spotless . Being a bit last minute, we bring additional setup materials and Patricia , Josh and their wait staff were there to assist us. These two went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and like family.
The Bridal Shower... The team of wait staff were superb. Everyone raved about their attentiveness to service! We chose a buffet for our guests and being the Dad, I wasn't involved in the party but did show up for the final hour and a half to be there for packing the car with gifts. I made sure to ask our guests if they enjoyed the food and many, not one, but many said the food was fabulous and they had an awesome time ! My wife received numerous texts the day after from many of our guests advising they had a fabulous time.
What more could you ask for. When your guests go out of their way to let you know via text messages they really enjoyed themselves, that makes the affair even extra special
The Snapper Inn is truly a first class restaurant. Patricia and Josh invited us back for dinner and we will surely take them up and become regular visitors .
Whether you visit the Snapper Inn for dinner or are looking to cater an affair, be sure to say hello to Patricia and Josh and I bet you will understand how a first class restaurant is run once you meet the...
