Long Island Waterfront Dining Guide: Ocean Views & Sunset Spots!

This is a gorgeous space with amazing views of the water. I really wanted to give it 5 stars, but it missed on service big time. As you can see from the pictures the food looked delicious and for the most part was really good. I enjoyed my lobster roll, Oysters and the Manhattan was one of the best I have had. Others at my table enjoyed the Thai Brussel Sprouts, Thai Calamari, Bang Bang Taco, Mahi Mahi Taco and Fish & Chips. Others at my table were not too pleased with the Duck Tacos, Hamburger and Lobster Bisque. Our main problem with our experience was how long everything took to make it to our table. About 45 minutes into our dining experience we had to ask for bread because our 5 year old nephew was beginning to meltdown, rightfully so.....us adults were hungry too. Drink service was slow as well. As we waited for main meal, we kept asking the staff when will we be served. Kept getting the same answer. Sorry, it will be out shortly....it wasn't. Eventually our waitress explained that they had two separate parties which slowed everything down. As a customer, I really didn't appreciate that excuse. It made me feel that my group, that was spending $300, wasn't as important as that group. To tell you the truth. If we were level set in the beginning I would have been much better with it. But it was as if none of the staff wanted to address it with us. The original manager on duty came over at some point and just said sorry we are working on it. The second manager Jennifer was excellent. She was empathetic and took a round of drinks off of the bill. Perhaps if she was on duty when we arrived we might have had a different experience. One other thing to note. My wife felt the ladies room was dirty. I am not looking to trash this place and I plan on going back; especially when the nice weather comes our way. I had been really looking forward to coming here and it was a disappointing first impression. Hopefully it will be a better experience moving forward.

(Food would be in between a 3 and 4 stars) 3.5 stars, A decent restaurant situated on the water, I was greeted promptly and friendly and was seated on time. Food came out at a good speed and service was decent and didn’t rush me out when I was done with my food. I wasn’t a big fan of their pink lemonade since it tasted very sugary, but it was ok. Calamari had a little too much of a kick for me when I got close to finishing it but was pretty good. My swordfish was decent, a little on the dryer side but overall pretty good and I loved the dessert smores waffle, it had a special taste with the ice cream they use which impressed me a bit. One thing that could use improvement is the ambience inside, the restaurant is a little bit old now and could use a few renovations to make it look more fresh, it’s acceptable just the inside needs to be updated soon. The crowd was mostly older people and a few families with kids. The view though is spot on and lives up to its name. One thing that made me round my rating up is this bus girl named Ava. She was on-top of our waters and made sure our table was clean and even gave us dessert menu’s before our server offered to get us then. In todays world teenagers don’t tend to look for these things, but Ava certainly did and she hustled all over the restaurant throughout my 1 and a half hour visit and helped out me and everyone else in the restaurant so I do have to commend that. Overall decent place about 3.5/5 stars I’d say but the bus people go above and beyond to make people happy and meet their needs. It does cost a little bit of money because your on the water and due to the fish they use, about $90-100 per person depending on what you get, but they do deliver appropriate value to their patrons, and because of this I will be back soon. Much better than the Snapper Inn down the road by far!

We just got married at View on 11/23/24, have celebrated my birthday there for years, and got engaged there in '23. We love Saturday night date nights at View and when it's warm and that sun room is open, or you've got a seat at a high top in the bar it's heaven. Why? Because it is the bombdiggity across all measures; food, service and atmosphere.

Atmosphere is the most straightforward, no brainer. You just have to love the view, at View. That broad expanse iof open water that you can see from almost every square inch of the place, the docks, slips, gazebo. The sunsets!! The building itself is of lovely and rustic construction, oriented to maximize the view. It is warm, inviting, beachy and nautical without shoving it down your throat.

Service! Attentive, friendly, kind. At View they want you to feel like family, and you will. I wish I could adequately describe how hard the staff was working, both silently in the background and in their interactions with our wedding guests. And for me in particular as the bride, I just felt spoiled rotten lol. Jimmy, Jon and Jesse at the managerial level are on point -- they are all at once large and in charge, and rolling up their sleeves to help out. Coordination of our ceremony, dealing with our vendors arriving ie cake delivery and florals, set ups, breakdowns, organizing our crowd. Jon, who was certainly busy enough, personally escorted my Mom around at one point because she was unexpectedly, and very frustratingly, dealing with terrible back pain on this very special day. When I took a look at my guestbook, the very first page was signed, "Congrats from your View family!" EVERYONE here is obviously well trained in HOSPITALITY and they truly seem to enjoy providing it.

The food. Oh, the food. We have never once been disappointed. Freshest raw bar. Appetizers, mains, light bites, handhelds, salads, pastas, gorgeous seafood and steaks. You can find ANYTHING you want here. you don't need a diner-sized menu, you need a clean and streamlined presentation of simply delicious things, things to share with friends, beautiful flavors and creative plates that are never pretentious or overdone, just good, classy food! Chef gives you that, in spades.

And it would be a crime to overlook the bar. Our guests enjoyed such friendly and quick service. We chose one of Carol's amazing concoctions as one of our signature drinks for our wedding! That lady knows what she's doing lol.

At our wedding we fielded compliments from our guests that echo our own feelings 100%. Including from Long Island natives who said, "I never even knew this place was here!" We are quite sure they'll be back for more.

Thank you to our View family for not only our dream wedding but making us feel at home even for a quick drink and a few clams and oysters at the bar in the summer. You are our...
