Creative Foods Catering — Restaurant in Town of Kent

My husband and I had our reception on my family's farm in upstate NY on 9/8/18, and we were challenged with finding a caterer who could serve our 200+ person outdoor wedding without a traditonal chef's kitchen on site - it was a daunting and big decision but I am SO HAPPY and SO GRATEFUL that I found Mehmet, Michelle and the team at CFC! We were drawn to them first from their reviews online for being a non-traditional venue caterer and for having quite a few high-profile clients, but we were sold from the very start once I spoke with Mehmet - we spent almost an hour on the phone discussing all the logistics and he patiently answered all my questions and made me feel so comfortable and at ease. He went above and beyond for us - he even came by my family's farm before we signed the contract to take a look at the space and give me his thoughts (and confirm it would be no problem at all), and then again the weekend before our wedding to do a final run through (which made me feel so so so at ease during such a stressful time). He was such a calming presence on our wedding day, had appetizers waiting for us at our table when we sat down, and came up to me a few times to check on us- I will be forever grateful for him that day!!

We signed our contract immediately after our tasting - there are so many packages to choose from that are so competitively priced to fit any budget with so many menu choices that we really were able to make a perfect menu to fit our budget and crowd. They handled everything for us - cocktail hour, reception, dessert, cut & served our cake, alcohol, staff & service, sourced & set up most of our rentals (tables, chairs, linens, cutlery, etc.), and once again went above and beyond by setting up the afterparty for us even though they weren't even working it! And the food - the food was AMAZING. We chose to have family style service and there was enough food for everyone to have some, and the staff came around with extras once some of the dishes were done! I had so many of my guests come up to me specifically to rave about the food - one of my guests texted my brother in law recently (almost 3 weeks later) that she was still thinking about the food and that the beef was one of the best she's ever had! I was so impressed with them: at my outdoor wedding, without a traditional kitchen, on a somewhat cold night - the food was absolutely delicious, there was something for everyone, and most importantly all my guests were happy. It was amazing.

Choosing a caterer is arguably one of the most important (if not the most important) vendor for your wedding day and I truly don't have one negative thing to say about CFC. I got married at the Greenpoint Loft in October of 2024. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Creative Foods Catering! From the moment we first reached out, Michelle and Mehmet provided exceptional service, making the entire process seamless and stress-free. Mehmet came over to our apartment in Brooklyn for a menu tasting and the experience was something we will never forget. It was like having your own private chef for a "date night" at home. Michelle and Mehmet worked closely with us to craft a menu that perfectly reflected our tastes and accommodated all of our guests' dietary needs. On the wedding day, they exceeded our expectations in every way. They showed up on-time and had setup complete before the first guest arrived. Mehmet brought us champagne after our "first look" to help with our nerves before the ceremony. The food was absolutely incredible—every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Our guests raved about it all night! The service was equally exceptional. During cocktail hour, we never had to wait for a drink; their staff was attentive and ensured everyone was taken care of. They even set aside a serving of all of the passed hors d'oeuvres for my husband and I and our signature cocktails so we could enjoy them after the ceremony before we joined the rest of our guests (and to ensure we got to try everything because cocktail hour can be very demanding of the bride and groom) During dinner, drinks were brought directly to the tables, so our guests didn’t have to get up, and their attentiveness throughout the night was remarkable.

From the moment we came into contact with Mehmet and Michelle, we could not have been happier with their level of service, quality and professionalism. Here is just a glimpse into our positive experience:

In-home Tasting— If you choose to use Creative Foods as your caterer, they will come to you for a small fee and conduct an in-home tasting. Many caterers today, in our experience, did not offer tastings at all. Mehmet prepared a delicious, full-experience, tasting from their stations/passed hors d’oeuvre menu in addition to entrées and desserts. He was prepared, on-time and friendly. And the best part, we didn’t have to travel!

Wedding Day Execution— We had a fairly complicated and quite large (225+ attendees with children) wedding that required two venues, but this did not deter Mehmet and Michelle whatsoever…Many caterers were a little taken aback by the complexity. They executed both venues flawlessly. In fact, multiple guests after the event told us that this was the best wedding food (and service) they had ever experienced. We did a plated salad and buffet-style arrangement—everything stayed fresh, cold/hot and delicious. They also did an excellent job anticipating food portions… something that was very important to us given the amount of guests!

Service— Michelle was our main contact over email. Michelle was such a pleasure to work with as she was responsive, helpful and incredibly patient as we created our final menu. Mehmet was on-site for our wedding and personally came up to us and our parents multiple times during the reception to check if we needed anything and the food/bar/overall quality was up to our standard. When a glass broke near the bar, Mehmet was the first person on the scene to help clean it up.
