Northern D'Lites — Restaurant in Town of Lakewood

This has been my family’s favorite ice cream place since I was a child. We were visiting from Missouri and had to make a stop. Everything was great except the service provided by a very rude teenager. Upon receiving my order I immediately could see it wasn’t the twist ice cream I ordered. I returned to the window to kindly explain the mistake. She stared at me, eventually took the ice cream and slammed the window in my face. When my “new” order came out it was evident she just scooped the top with all the flurry toppings out and put some chocolate ice cream in there. So now I had some chocolate in the mix with no toppings and ice cream all over the cup. When I went to return again to the window to advise this wasn’t acceptable, I believe I encountered the owner outside of the stand who was happy to make me a new order with no questions asked. I’m not sure what was going on with the original girl who took my order but I sure hope she had the day...

Highlights: Great pitstop for some ice cream on your way further into the Northwoods that won't break the bank and keep the kids happy for awhile*.

Pros: Great Ice cream, delicious hot foods, generous servings, friendly service, and easy to find.

Cons: Parking and Traffic gets hectic when this place has a line. Which is often.

My favorite: Large Twist Cone. They'll ask you "do you know how big that is? Or "you sure?" Enjoy.

Really amazing food and icecream!! Portions sizes especially for ice cream are HUGE! LOVE everything about this place! Great staff and super fast service! This place gets really busy in the summer but the staff is super speedy when it comes to making everything!
