Kade’s
A Culinary Gem in the Heart of LeRoy — Kade’s Scratch Kitchen Delivers Beyond Expectations
After living in LeRoy for most of my life, I can honestly say I’ve never experienced food this exceptional within town limits—until tonight. We ordered takeout from Kade’s Scratch Kitchen, and what we got wasn’t just dinner. It was a full-blown culinary event—every bite bursting with flavor, care, and creativity.
From start to finish, our meal was phenomenal. Not “good for LeRoy.” Not “pretty good for takeout.” I’m talking legitimately outstanding, big-city, top-tier restaurant quality, right here at home—and we ate it at our own kitchen table.
We shared a Shrimp Po’boy, a Kade’s Hoagie, two cannolis, and a slice of strawberry cheesecake. Each item was so perfectly crafted, so flavorfully layered, that trying to rank them feels impossible. The shrimp was crisp and fresh, the hoagie had bold and balanced seasoning, and the desserts? Let’s just say the cheesecake tasted like it came straight out of a boutique bakery in Manhattan—and the cannolis were flawless: light, creamy, and just sweet enough.
Here’s the thing: I’ve dined in many places across the state and beyond, and my girlfriend has eaten at some of the finest restaurants in the country. We both agreed—we’ve never had food in LeRoy that even comes close to what we had Tuesday night. The flavor combinations were elegant and thoughtful, the textures perfect, and every component of each dish felt like it was made with real passion.
And this was takeout. I can only imagine what it must be like fresh out of the kitchen, served hot to the table.
Kade’s isn’t diner food. It’s not greasy-spoon nostalgia or dressed-up bar food. It’s something else entirely: authentic scratch cooking with a real understanding of flavor, presentation, and pride. And while it’s not priced like a high-end city restaurant, the value is absolutely there. You’re paying for serious quality, and every dollar feels well spent.
If you haven’t tried Kade’s yet, you are truly missing out. We didn’t have a single bite that wasn’t an A++. In fact, based on Tuesday nights experience, I’m willing to bet the entire menu is just as stellar.
Kade’s Scratch Kitchen is a true treasure in LeRoy. We’ll be back—again and again.

Read moreI've been here twice so far.
My first visit: For an appetizer, I had the queasdilla with grilled chicken. For my entree, I had "that fried chicken" (is a fried chicken sandwich). And for dessert, I enjoyed the signature sundae. Everything was delicious!
Second visit: fried pickles, chicken tenders pizza, and the brownie sundae. Again, everything was delicious! And the crust on the pizza had that softness you can only get when it's freshly baked.
My waiter (the same young man both times) was polite, attentive without being annoying, and quite friendly when time allowed.
Five months later, I'm here with another wonderful experience to share! I had a tooth extracted today and my partner insisted on taking me out as a treat. I warned my server, Ashley, that could only have foods that were soft and not piping hot. She was more than happy to work with me to figure out what I could eat, and we settled on the gnocchi bolognese. It was perfect! The gnocchi melted in my mouth and it was so good! After, I ordered the signature sundae because I remembered the cookie being super soft. I forgot about the crunchy heath bits - but Ashley didn't, and she checked with me before leaving them off.
Overall, my experiences here have been fantastic, and I look forward to coming...
Read moreThe restaurant itself has a good feel to it. They're new to the area, and the concept is good.
That said, the hoagie could use a little work. For 18 dollars, it's pricey for what it offers. I've also had the opportunity to try their romaine head salad, which was quite good. Their cheese quasedillas were the most filling I've ever had and had good substance to it.
The fried pickles were alright, although I believe they should allow them to cool a little longer before serving. I sampled their personal pizzas, and those were quite good. The pizzas felt properly priced for what I ate as well.
Altogether, this is a new location, and there are some learning hiccups. The food being made from scratch is a major draw for me, and I suspect many others.
The chips should be offered by themselves as an appetizer. Thickest and crunchiest I've eaten in a long time. This is a good addition to Le Roy's "Food Street."
I will definitely come back, especially once they have the full ice...
