Very bad experience, but I will go back. We had dinner there on a Thursday evening at about 4:30 we were one of 3 tables. Things went bad early, they sat us at a two top, that backed up to a large table set for 20. No idea why, but they came in shortly after and we were right in the middle of the family reunion, in an otherwise empty restaurant. There seemed to be a lot of well trained staff, our server was not one of them. We were her only table, so that wasn't the problem. The Risotto fritter appetizer was delicious. The red sauce was spot on! Our entrees were not good. I had the baked gnocchi, my wife had the scallops with lobster Risotto. The gnocchi tasted badly burned. Like eating charcoal. The Risotto was a bit undercooked, the scallops were only seared on one side, and the "lobster" may have been mock lobster. The deep fried capers were the best part. Add in the bad table and a not being able to get more water, or a second drink and it wasn't good. BUT... I WOULD LOVE to go again. The menu is really well thought out, the red sauce is delicious, they clearly had a bad night in the kitchen. Clearly the chef needs to keep his standards higher, but I could see this being a new favorite spot, if they get it together. I'll try again in a...
Read moreThe place was cozy, staff was friendly. Glad to have a fine dining restaurant in the area, there aren’t many restaurants around. Started with the appetizer- the crab cakes were delicious but a little smaller than other restaurants. For our main dishes I went with the scallops with risotto which was delicious and the scallops were cooked to perfection and the risotto had a good al dente texture which complimented the sauce. My husband chose the braised short rib which was very flavorful and pulled apart nicely. The compliments of the sweet potato and candied bacon went very well with it. We also added the roasted brussel sprouts which were cooked nicely and the French onion Mac & cheese which was creamy but not much of the French onion flavor save a bit of crispy onion on top. It wasn’t what we expected. For dessert, they gave us a complimentary deconstructed cannoli because it was our anniversary, which made us feel special. Overall, the food and experience was great and I’d definitely go again as well as recommend...
Read moreI love this place, second time I went but if I lived closer I'd be there now often for sure. I got the Sunday sauce pasta with a side of ricotta to mix in as I plowed through it. The homemade pasta and sauce is simply magical. It's definitely my favorite place. Madison served us again which was a pleasant surprise. She is so attentive and personable, she could be anyone's best friend. I've never had a server that I would invite to sit and just eat and have conversation. The first time I was there she took the time to explain the history of her family and the food. Overall a fantastic dining experience again and my go to place for Sunday sauce :) Hidden gem in the north towns...
